what the g-tech told me

i just bought a g-tech today and ran a 15.10 with a reported 143 peak hp at the wheels. not bad for a d16y7 eh? god these are fun, and not too expensive.

p.s. car and driver claims that these are accurate to 4/1000 of a second, so no hatin'.

yea, you better have more than bolt-ons otherwise you should just throw that piece of junk in the garbage

they are pretty accurate .... unless he didnt position it in the window right and calibrate it.

it was calibrated, and straight as an arrow. as for my mods:
AEM cai
AEM underdrive pulleys
AEM fpr and rail (38 psi)
HP Header
Apex'i N1 full exhaust
6AL ignition module/8mm plug wires/NGK plugs

also come into play:
B&M short shifter
stock steelies *BLING BLING* newer bridgestone tires
aftermarket clutch (not sure on the brand or puck arrangement)

my roommate got a gtech for xmas, haven't got to play with it much because of the rain but i know i run a 17.9 with bad traction on a wet road :-/

pretty unbelieveable man.

With a bunch of bolt on s**t and still stock injectors unless you tell me other wise, you mean to tell me you dropped 2 secs off your 1/4 and gained 40whp.

Either theres something else on there we dont know about, or you are a kick ass driver.

that's it for mods, honest. i guess i'm sort of just leaning towards the kick ass driver part . as stated above, these things are pretty damn accurate.

if they are so accurate, then it should be able to tell a good driver from hp. that car isnt making anywhere near 143hp. and you didnt run faster than a 99-00 si either. that s**t isnt calibrated, or its whack. take it to a track and run it on real timing equipment and real 1/4 mile and then come back.

whats the temperature like b/c that has a big impact on the acelerometers (sp?) and are you sure it was positioned right in the middle of the windshield, and that you were on even roads? your readings just dont seem correct. and for the horsepower, how accurate was your weight input?

i run a 16.92 and HP was 147. which is bull to me. i think the gtech registers at the crank, and you know how u have to put ur weight in of the vheicle...well mine was at least 3300...but to get my accurate hp SAE i put it at 4100 pounds...

i ran mine about 25 times...actually i run a 17 flat..hahah 16.92 was my best.

just run it hecka times, hook itup with a pic of that time...im not doubting u, im just kinda doubting the gtech...

is urs the gtech thats black or the really nice digital one?

as far as weight is concerned if you dont get it exactly right (go to a truck stop and weigh your car with you in it)

the Hp sucks in measuring, but 1/4 is pretty accurate if u dont fuk up...i ran that about 20 times as well...
