try to take apart the keyless remote thing, and try to clean the board and the buttons, i had a remote that was just dirty untill i opened her up and got out all the dirt and cleaned it, and it now works flawlessly.
Thats what I would suggest, might as well replace the battery too... contact cleaner works wonders

My brother got 2 remotes when he bought his civic :what:. So when I got the car, one of the remotes starting going bad so I started to use the other and noticed a huge difference.

But I think I'll try cleaning my remote too. Didn't know you could lol. My KE sometimes doesn't work too (from a distance). It always works when I'm next to the car though. Never had the OP's problem.

And BTW, how DO you take the remote apart?

I tore at mine with my fingernails and couldn't snap it apart. I've tried knives, swiss army knife, the edge of my desk (lol). I still can't get it apart :(. I took the battery and cover off and there are no screws.

Mine have zero screws. I'll provide screenshots if you really insist. But mine have no screws at all.

Same here. Just pop the battery out the back (twisting with a quarter) and then use a small flathead to pry apart the two parts of the remote (top and bottom) and youll find the controls n s**t. The batteries are real cheap from Honda, about 2-3 bucks and it makes a difference. A new remote would only get you a new circuit board, which SHOULDNT go bad overtime.

Just tore it apart and it looked flawless. Nothings wrong with it. But it doesn't work from as far as distance as it used to. Maybe just it's the actual alarm going bad?

my KE toke a couple presses to work, and i got a new one, and it still happened.

Now, my keyless entry does not work AT ALL, anybody know what to check and why it wouldnt work all of a sudden? I got a new battery for the KE remote, and that did not help, everytime i press the unlock button, the red l.e.d. light comes on but nothing happens

Any SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT!!!

I'm not too up to date on how they work, but like any remote system the remote has to be ser to a certain "address" in order to work for your aplication. If you tinkered with anything inside the remote you may have changed the "address" settings.
