Also, if I don't fix this issue immediately what are the chances of catastrophic failure while I am driving, meaning, if I don't fix it today will the problem cause me to smash into on coming traffic?

It sounds like a real safety concern, so my recommendation would be that you fix it ASAP.

By the way, if you are handy, you can remove and install the new rack to save on the cost of labor. The job is tedious.

Also, be sure to take the car to good local mechanic to verify the diagnosis.

Well guys, this is my virgin forum thread and within a few hours you guys have helped me tremendously. I have a very good Honda mechanic that I will take my Civic to and have them verify this issue. I will update everyone after verification of the problem. Thank you so much RonJ and the rest of you guys.
