i didnt install it personally , becuase i dont know s**t about wiring/stereo, but im 99% sure its just mounted to the metal that supports the seat. no wood.

i mounted my amp under my passenger seat..had to take the seat off

i put mine on the back of the seat. i just drilled into the metal spine and them put screws in it. havent had any problems with it.

i have mine on the back of my box...

I hope u at least have some rubber bushings or something under those amps.......that will shorten amp life considerably...FYI.

Sub box is the best place. I think. P.S For the best sound qality get a pool noodle.Cut it into 2" sections. Place the scetions under the sib box so it is supported. Over a few days they'll compress to about 3/4 inch and the soud qaulity will improve alot. There's my two cents.

dont get me wrong, you can, and its fine, you just need to put some rubber grommets or spaccers in between the amp and the box.....

LoL. Quite obvious. I was thinking it was something else..

Well, I got mines for free and I could care less. If it dies, I'll just take it out, lose some fat off the car. But good to know.

Another benefit of the seat back mounting location is that when you are adjusting the gain/boost/whatever else you can just drop the seat back, make your adjustment, and fold the seat back up again. You don't have to crawl into the trunk like if you mount it to the parcel shelf.
