Im saving up money and when i have enough, im going to get a compression test on my engine. If everything is working fine then im going to turbo my d16 with a greddy turbo kit.
Im just wondering how many people got their d16 turboed on CC. Dont tell me to go look at turbod16 site i wanna know about people form CC. If possible please list the what turbo and what fuel mangment ect.....

I dont have a turbo, but Ive read a lot into D-series turbos and turbos in general.

If youre going with a GReddy kit than you don't need to worry about other peoples turbo and fuel management.

I suggest going with a t3/04e from www.cheapturbos.com with the tial 38mm wastegate (799 or some s**t) with hondata s200b and a johnnyracecar.com intercooler. Buy your piping from JCWhitney.com, and your injectors from www.DSMtrader.com. BOV's can be bought or taken from a junkyard.

As for a "turbo manifold", you can make one out of a two piece HF/HX old CRX's header. Or you can buy one from various places, OR get a performance header from a place like full-race.com or from lovefab.com

Any other questions?? 8)

please dont put a greddy turbo kit on a d-series motor............. for $500 more you could swap in a b16. or, if you consider the extra costs required to do the install correctly, you could be close to even a gsr motor. and then you could save up for another year and turbo the b-series motor...... that's a drastic difference in power......... do it once, do it right.

yea but some people can't afford both and or don't want to do both.... therefore a turbo d16 turbo costs less.... and will beat any b16 or b18c1

i would say that...... it would def. beat a b18c1 therefore ofcourse its going to beat a b16a2 i'm talking stock motors here..... but the h22's and the c5's got the turbo d16 but it wouldn't be an easy kill....

In a full size vehicle maybe...........
no, in any. The D series will be puttng out more power for 4,400(how much you will pay for a b18, NOT installed) than the b18c will.

i cant speak for anybody else on this site, but i wouldn't want to be saving forever to get a B-series and then saving for another year for a turbo. Personally, i have a pretty good income, but the average tuner doesn't. Thats why you see posts about people buying an intake. A GReddy turbo kit for the D-series motor is well spent money with good potential, and is practical for the everyday civic tuner.

You know I dont know why you would want to turbo your D....I had a D and said nope because a Turbo B is gonna smole me.....Dude I know you have heard it before but save your dough. Get a B,H or even a K ( <--- thats on the crazy side since its $$$ ). Dude get a DOHC then save again and turbo it.

I have beaten 2 turbo'd D16's and Im not boosted and I dont have N20 either. I just know how to shift.

if you have a b16 or b18c1 in a coupe versus a decent turbo d16y8 motor there's no way you won... with out some serious mods.....

very true.....a turbo D16 can easily put 200 to the wheels versus a B16 slapping down 135 + or - stock and the GSR a good 10 or so over that. You'd need more than I/H/E to compete with the turbo D. once again, "on the average", people dont have more than I/H/E on any motor........

i/h/e costs nearly a grand for brand new name brand parts. s**t thats like half a turbo. And you dont need I/H with a turbo... (you get it in a kit -- IC and Turbo Mani)
