just full of useless untrue information..... insurance companies CAN deny items not in there from the factory.. you cant pay insurance for a car valued at 2grand.. with 15 grand of work in it.. and then AFTER its stolen try to get the 17 grand.. it just doesn't worj that way... whta you pay per month is based on the cars value... i have more in parts than my car is worth... with full coverage.. they pay the market value of the car.. in some cases they will pick up personal items in the car.. but not normally.... they will NOT pay you above what you insured the car for.. and well you say ok fine show them the reciepts.. yeah i tried that.. and they wont cover the car.. im 27 years old.. no points.. and married... so its not a driving record issue...

geico covers my stuff, so long as it is BOLTED onto the car it is considered part of the car. If it is stolen sitting in your driveway or something, I'm sure homeowner's insurance would probably cover it too. I only have liability on mine, but added theft to my coverage. $1300 f**king dollars a year . i hate being 18.

be sure that they cover the aftermarket stuff and DONT deduct for the stock stuff not in the car.. in other words make sure you are not paying for seats twice only to have them tell you later.. yeah we cover your $1200 racing seats.. but first we need to deduct the $1700 for the stock seats that are no longer in the car...

just called them, and they said that they are not sure and i need to detail list everything to see what they will cover and what they wont... THANK YOU VERY much for the heads up.. i hope that it works out... really THANK YOU..

haha thats EXACTLY why i'm messin with the DX. sleepa-style. one of my friends is really freakin serious about not getting his car broken into (he's goin to school at GA Tech, middle of downtown Atlanta, he actually uses a webcam-based infrared recording setup for added security. not to mention how he welded-in a head unit cage, uses a dummy spring-loaded hood cable (real one is in engine bay), and welded a bracket over the door locks so u can't slim jim it. too much if u ask me. if they want it bad enough they are gonna be able to get it. period.

your welcome man, hope that works out for u. my buddy had the same problem, he got a head unit, in dash lcd, 4x12's, and an mtx amp ripped out, auto insurance wasnt gonna cover it but homeowner's did.
