We are all here for one reason or another but im curious as to what makes you interested in your/others Honda. Is it that you want to have a way to have a reliable DD? Do you enjoy the feel of your motor that you took up your honda as a hobby? Do you feel as in if your car is your number 1 investment? Is it in your blood to turn a wrench and go fast? We all have our own reasons. I thought this thread would be fun so post away if interested!

For years when i was younger I always admired my step fathers 79 camaro that he built up and enjoyed feeling the power of it when he brought it out once in a blue moon. I was taught to take pride in my work, thus when I started my first project which was an 89 Pontiac Grand Am LGO and got it running it was the greatest feeling in the world..until it slung a rod. My first truly succesful project was my civic when i did my first ever conversion and motor swap so i drive it with pride.

i grew up with the liking of cars, played the games was always always playing racing games, too much excitement and thrill. Watched movies and shows about them and loved it. I remember the day when my dad got a 5th gen honda civic lx (i think its lx, coupe without power windows and such) but meaning to say, i could not keep my eyes off it. Thing was amazing, clean, amaziing when it came to gas, my dad loved that car until my mom ruined it by not paying attention while driving and drove it into the grass and something else on a interstate. never drove the same.

Fast forward about 8 years or so and here i am with my own honda civic that i got at a auction and decided to bring it back to life and then some. My brothers think im crazy about cars since im incredibly picky when it comes to cars, refusing to own anything thats not a manual transmission car.

The feeling of driving a stick shift is incomparable to anything else. I smile everytime i shift gears, i love driving.

Yup very unorganized thoughts but you get the point i guess.

P.S - Ex GF thought i was the weirdest person she knew, she constantly said "sometimes i think you like cars more than girls" everytime that deep roar drives by me on the highway or freeway and i can't help but smile.

Mine is gonna be long winded, so I'll have to wait til I get out of work in a few hours, but I like the idea of this thread :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Condensed version; it gave my father and I something to do together. Started with go-karts, and blossomed into a full blown career, from which I have since retired. I still turn wrenches, just not at a shop ;)

When I was 4 which was about 98 my uncle gave me a blue with white stripes 1996 Dodge viper GTS. Ever since then I've been drawing cars hoping to become a car designer one day. I just love cars and all kinds hatchbacks, coupes, sedans, suvs, pickups, and compacts. Yes I do have my preferences when it comes to cars, but who doesn't. Lately I've been trying to research stuff on an engine rebuild for my D16Y8 because i want to Turbo it.

ha im in the same boat. Every gf i've had has said that, one even said she wouldnt be surprised if we broke up bc of my car.

Growing up i always was curious about how cars worked, always played the need for speed and gran turismo games.

A few of my friends were into cars so that influenced me too, mostly hondas and 240s. So yeah i just grew into it, will possibly make some sort of business out of it.

Well, since I was very young I always enjoyed taking things apart & figuring out how they worked. I even use to take apart my GI Joes then mix & paint the parts to make new characters. As an adult, I still have the same intrigue combined with an enjoyment of working with my hands. I like feeling a sense of accomplishment when i fix or build something myself. Not to mention that saving money in the process also feels rewarding. All this adds to my desire to just customize things to how I would have done them had I designed it. Spending so much time in a car, I cant help but want to figure it all out & personalize it.

I grew up around may cars my entire life, if I wasnt outside helping my dad fix them. I'd be sitting behind the steering wheel pretending to drive them until I got old enough to. My first car I got was a 1980 k5 blazer, it needed massive amounts of work but I still took on the challenge. Change out the rack and pinion, new drive line, new intake manifold, carb, 6 inch lift kit / 35's. Well from there I was hooked on cars. I traded it off to get a 69 chevelle that from what the guy knew didnt run. After inspecting the engine a little further I noticed the guy had the started wires wired completely wrong. I fixed them and 5 mins later it fired right up. With the exception of a misfire because the engine needed a tune up desprately. New plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, full radiator flush. Just about anything I changed out I did. It ran strong, but I noticed it wasnt a stock lope with the cam that was in it. After crapping the paint away from the block I found out it was an Keith Black racing block. I swapped engine out with a guy from craigslist. Basically I got a new 468 BB chevy plus 2500 for it. I ran the car for a year until I couldnt afford driving it anymore. Then I traded it to a guy in So Cal that had a bagged tacoma and 7500 and thats where I started getting into smaller import type cars. From there I picked up a 91 Integra Rs as a DD it was alot of fun until someone decided to rear end me. Shortly after I picked up a nice 98 Integra for 2500 it had a b20 swap and absolutely mint interior. I drove it for a good 6 months until I wanted to swap over to a civic. And thats how I came into my 95 civic, the same guy I bought the Integra from traded me his civic for the Integra and Ive been hooked onto these cars since my 91 and I'll never go back.

My entire family the guys anyway have always been mechanics and into building cars. My mom drove a nova with a serislly built motor in it along with alot of other cars in the same category. When i got a little older i always watched and helped my stepdad work on them. My first real car that i drove was a Thunderbird lx with a 5.0 HO in it that we rebuilt from the ground up a couple times and had the engine decently built. After that it was a 1990 eagle talon tsi that what got me into imports and from that car which i eventually sold to the civics ive been in love with the import game ever since, but old school muscle will always hold a place in my life and i will own more of it again.

I like to drive, and I like doing things myself, so I guess that's the gist of it.

Well my dad works on cars for a living so I have always been around engines and car part etc. and being that I'm my dads first born I kinda liked to tag along with my dad more then the rest of my siblings so it was easier for me to understand cars and like them as a small child. As soon a I saw what you could do to a civic I was in love. Once I got into the Honda game the world of imports opened up and now I'm hooked for life. So I'm a car freak because it in my blood I guess.

Haha like everyone else my Dad as one his first jobs was working at a Body Shop, He had brought home a 65' Impala SS and that thing was sooo loud and of course me being the small lad I was i thought that was awesome. Then I won't lie i stumbled upon picture of the Nissan Skyline my father had used to own when we were in Japan and after that it was history i just started to fall in love with cars. Even though all I have owned is nothing but Hondas =)

When i was about 10 i used to be with my dad when he did the oil change on his semi truck, he's a car mechanic also... Then after we used to go to the car shows and from there it all began... I started to like cars more and more, then the fast and the furious came out ( i know ricer movie xD) and i would watch it all the time, i even knew by heart what they we're gonna say next...xD After my dad bough tme a playstation and it was the time of gran turismo, man i fell in love with that game... Time went by and before you know it i had a job and bought my first car, 1991 honda civic sedan...

Its in my blood and I have always liked the look, the speed & the sound for years.its somthing I have to do I love fixing on a car but the upgrading is better.I never use to like,Honda I hated it 11 years ago now till a year ago I bought one and learned to love it and upgrade it.it all started with me not being able to get a 95 eclipse in my hannds or a 3000gt and beyond so I said screw it im getting a Honda and their pretty cool cars when hooked up.but sadly I never buy the same thing twice my next car will be different
