i can read, he committed and admitted to a misdemeanor and then was being arrested for said misdemeanor, i am sure there is a part of the story not being told here btw
I think your story is totally different than his. You were genuinely trying to help a friend, he legitimately broke the law. Even if he was NOT mistaken, and the speed limit WAS 70mph, he was STILL breaking the law. Regardless of whether he was polite or not, the law was still broken.

I know here in LA cops tend to be a little more aggresive and jerkish, and i dont blame them its understandable these people deal w/ drugies losers and low lifes all day, so when they pull you over they have no idea who you are, nor do they no what to expect so they have to be aggresive and ready for anything. . . . .. .
and I noticed over here the NICE cars dont realy get pulled over i know some ppl that do have NICE cars such as brand new 7 series BMW's and such and they rarley get pulled over, i guess the cops dont want to hassle the upper class, sucks to say its the buckets, rice burnes that get pulled over a shitload over here, they either think were some low life or an illegal .. .i guess they like picking on the little guy. . . .so i do respect cops, but f**k are they anoying and can be a bunch of d**k heads the majority of the time

no reason to sure, that doesnt mean that they wont. ive been pulled over at least 3 times and had a cop come up to my window and say "did you know your license plate light is out" when in fact it was not out. i always played stupid.

cops here do that too. ive had cops pull me over, point at my muffler and argue with me as to whether or not its a muffler or not.
that was a state trooper. had another state trooper meet see me pass a car, turned around and followed the car for a bit then flew around him caught up to me and pulled me over. came up lecturing me saying "theres absolutely no reason to be passing cars going the speed limit, we have officers who issue tickets for passing other vehicles" and as soon as i explained to him the guy had just pulled onto the road and was driving 40 when i passed him(speed limit was 55) his whole attitude changed and he was fine after that. then come to find out after we talked and i gave him my license he goes bass fishing with my uncle lol so i doubt he would have done anything anyway once i handed him my license and he recognized the last name. ive only really been a d**k to one cop and that was because he was a f**king idiot. i was down in oklahoma and had a cop driving around with no lights on at all, not even headlights, he sees me drive by, flies out of a side straight and down the road after us, still with no lights on(had some friends following us that saw him pull out) then sits behind me at a stoplight, waits for the light to turn green, flips on all his lights and sirens. so i pull into the gas station and he runs up and tells me i was going 80 because he had to do 80 to catch me. we argued about that for a bit and i even admit to him i was going about 10 over the speed limit, he accuses me of racing my other buddy in a ford escort and when i said no and a few other words he threatens to arrest me and impound my car for me being "smart" with him to which i replied ok. he asked how many tickets i had so i said none(which was true) he laughed and walked back to his car after asking me where i lived, who i worked for, how long i had worked there, what was the address, and a bunch of other bs. walks back up and says your just getting a warning tonight, then tells me if he pulls me or my other buddy in the "civic" over again he was arresting us. i told him it was a ford escort to which he snapped back whatever as he got into his cruiser and left

It is statistically higher for a junk car to contain an illegal or a junkie. Look at it like this. You are a cop and pull over a Mercedes and a junked out 80's Regal. Which one do you think is going to more than likely not have a license and insurance? If you guessed the junked out car, you are correct. It is VERY likely that junk cars are carrying people with no license or insurance. If they can't afford to maintain their car, what makes you believe that they are going to pay for insurance?
It comes with the territory. Driving a junk car puts you in the line of junkies and illegals thus you get targeted.
Same thing as ricers. You are in the same line as guys that street race, drive recklessly, run from cops, etc. A high majority of full on ricers have stolen parts on their car. Puts anyone with that kind of car right in the target hairs of officers.
I don't think it has anything to do with not wanting to hassle the upper class.
I have been pulled over in my 2007 fully loaded Silverado as many times as I have in my lowered Civic.

I have never had a good experience with police even WITH being polite. The area i USED to live at, you show up with half the cars you guys own on this site? & because they don't know you the first thing they'll do is pull u over and tell you to pop your hood......... and check vin#'s, motor tags, check for NOS...... mainly do to the fact that they don't have anything else better to do, being that its a small town atmosphere......... don't hate cops but never quite caught my respect to be honest.........

Personally I don't like American traffic laws, and more so our driving culture in general. In Europe, if you have a fast car, people let you pass them; they know that you're not going to hold them up in any way once you get around them and take off at double their speed. Here, everyone feels like they have their spot on the road reserved, and if someone passes, it's basically cutting in line.
That being said, I don't like the system, but I respect all officers of the law (unless they overstep their boundaries and break the law themselves). They're just doing their job, and they might not even agree with the laws. Regardless of whether the officer gets an attitude or turns out to be cool, I always treat them in a courteous, respectful, and compliant manner. It's gotten me off of an excessive speeding charge (I was doing 79 in a 35, the officer reduced it to doing 40), as well as another speeding offense (doing 42 in a 25, he reduced it to "failure to obey a traffic device" which had a 25 dollar fine and no points).
You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

I've always been very honest and straight up with police officers when they pulled me over and I always get treated politely.
One time, I ran a stop sign at like a little past midnight. Like I literally didn't even come to a rolling stop. You can see both sides clearly and I just didn't think to stop since it was so late. A cop was parked in a parking lot down the road and saw my headlights and noticed. He pulls me over and I just told him, "You know, it's late, no ones around, I just didn't think to stop". He told me, "You know, I understand. It really is late, no ones around.. But next time, at least slow down.". He didn't even tell me come to a complete stop lol.
Another cop pulled me over because I had my rear license plate in the rear window and not in the trunk. The bolts snapped off in the trunk and I had no way of securing it onto the trunk so I put it in the rear window. I told the cop, "If you look at my trunk, the bolts snapped off in the holes so I can't put it on. I'm going to my friends house later today to get it fixed.". Sure enough, he looked, said "Oh you're right! As long as you say you're getting it fixed later, I'll let you off with a warning. But you know its NYS law to have it on the back of your car".
I was on my way to class last year and getting on the on ramp for the highway and they had 2 cops stationed on the on-ramp about halfway through. I didn't see them because they were around the corner of a ton of trees. That was when I had my suspension so I cruise through the corner at 50 and he waves me down like I'm a speed demon. He asked why I was going so fast and why I didn't have my seat belt on, I told him I was late for class, he saw my back pack on my passenger seat, told me he could've gaven me 3 tickets but he only gave me 1 for no seat belt.
. I've always had luck with cops that pull me over. But IMO, being honest pays off.

Because when it comes to that date when they're suppose to go to court and fight the case against you, they might just remember that you weren't a d**k and not go to court..

Around here they pay the officers overtime to go to court. Sit in court and get paid time and a half (in some cases double time) or work a grueling shift and do a bunch of paperwork for a normal low pay rate. Which would you choose?
here in cali its triple time; however, they have days set aside for officers to do case work like going to court.
