Why the H22?

Ok, guess ill chime in too.

I decided on the h22 mainly for the torque. Because as the saying goes "Torque wins races and HP sells cars." I also chose it because there arent too many of them runnin around where im currently living. But mostly for the numbers. The torque numbers, the hp numbers, the price tag numbers. All those numbers were a factor in my decision.

And no, you dont have to be rich to do this swap (if you did, i would be the last person doing it), you just need to have patience.

And no, you dont have to buy a power steering pump and no it doesnt have horrible under steer. These are wives tales. You just have to make sure to take your time and do it correctly. No cutting corners (just like any other well done swap should be).

And yes, you can boost an h. You just have to be very careful with the amount of boost your pushin. The reason is because the cylinder walls in the h are very thin. In which case, if you really wanted to boost the hell out of it, you could, all you would have to do is resleeve and you'd be good to go.

And yes you can have AC. HCP makes a bracket that allows the AC compressor to be mounted on the motor.

All th can say the H22 swap is a bad ass swap. I raced a guy who lives across the street from my best friend. The guy drive a evo and out of the two time I raced him I beat him once and he beat me once. I bearly beat him as he was at my passenger door.

Uhm. Well, the compelte swap from hmo (with shipping) is roughly $2400. Then you need motor mounts, axels (which, if you go with hmo you can get him to through in the 93 teg axels you need instead of the lude axels that come with it), patience (for the wiring), tb and wp (which you should do with ANY motor swap), spark plugs, 92 teg upper rad hose, 94 del slow VTEC lower rad hose.

Thats bare minimum stuff just to get it runnin and on the street. But, since you already have the motor out i would recommend doing the clutch, fly wheel, and fuel rail. Also, if you have the time and the money maybe do cam gears as well. Once you get this beast in, its a whore to work on due to the space confinements.

H22a Swap

I am actually in the process of doing that swap into my '98 civic. It is not that much work. I just sent my wiring harnesses out today and will have them back by friday. The car will be done by sunday. The only thing that you have to do for it to fit is cut a little bit of the frame onj the drivers side or just use a sledge hammer and then you have to cut some holes to run your cables and weld some bolts on. So as for the swap it's not that hard.

umm go b18c1 if u wanna turbo it after, because it involves less work than a h22 internal wise and plus the h22 is ALOT of money, i juss TLed my h22 hb cause of some ass f**k that rear ended me and the h22 swap is soo much work, take times and its pretty expensive to so yah but the with that extra tourque, it was worth it to me, so it is really ur decision to what u want
