Sorry to break it to you bud but that's not always good enough. I can remember plenty of times where looking over my shoulder simply wasn't enough. Fortunately, I've always been lucky enough to see the car in my blind spot just moments before I changed lanes, but not untill after I had already started makig the move. I kept telling myself to get one of those convex mirrors but never got around to it. One of the first things I did after I bought my new car just weeks ago was stop at walmart and pick up one of those cheap little 2" round convex mirrors you stick to your drivers sideview mirror. Probably the best $.98 I've ever spent.
Looking over your shoulder is checking your blind spot. I can see all around my vehicle fine without any need for more mirrors. I look in my rearview and sideview mirror and over my shoulder before I change lanes. I even check when I'm the passenger (just a habit). The only problem I've ever had was people who haven't checked their blind spots, don't signal and nearly hit me.

I agree with NOFX, if you arent strapped into a harness, its not a neccessity to have one of these. Ive never even gotten CLOSE to cutting someone off because I am constantly checking my blind spots..

In fact it's a pet peeve of mine when people sit in my blind spot. I don't like to be in other people's blind spots either. If you can't see their rear view mirror, there's a good chance they can't see you (in the event that they DO use mirrors).

I will add in that I do like oc's and Jezek's, though I prefer Jezek's because oc's is so rounded.

The only thing I've bought for my Civic so far...a broadway mirror
I just hate the way stock mirrors make everything look so zoomed in.
I think it might be a Korean thing too, my dad and some of my other family members have been using them for years.

I actually have one those mirrors. They really do help. Objects in mirror are smaller than stock, but you see the rear and the blind spot. IMO it helps me A LOT. Sometimes I still turn my head and check to make sure. I think it's a good idea to have one but not necessary.

Using a mirror like this plus checking your blind spots is the safest thing you can do. Dont rely on your mirror alone to tell you if someone is in your blind spot.

what an odd way to do it... jsut pull the metal clip further so when you tighten the screw it pushes the mount tighter pff always with the add ons sut modify slightly so cave man :P
