Almost all colors are in most places I believe. But it is dependant on your local laws. Google is your friend.

I believe it is illegal in every state to have any exterior lights other than headlights, turn signals, brake lights, and reverse lights, and they can only be red, white, and amber. You could clutter the hell out of your dash with them things though.

Yeah, that too. The only interior lights that are allowed to be on whilst driving are the instrument cluster lights and dashboard lights. All other lights are considered illegal and are only to be used when parked such as under dash glow.

Not necessarily. As long as the lights are DOT approved, you should be fine. I would consult your local PD.

It's NOT illegal to have/use them while parked. It IS illegal to use them while driving though in every state. That said, a buddy of mine had some installed back in 2005ish. When we were parked at our weekly car meets he would leave them on. Cops would creep through all the time and see what was going on. Of all the times they came to talk to us, only once did they ever mention his lights and said exactly that. Just don't use them while you're driving and we'll never have a problem.

I also had a buddy with a Lamborghini that had cop lights as well. He DID use them while driving. LOL... And yes, people pulled out of the way for him. Then were pissed when a camo wrapped Lambo went rolling by. haha.. Guy lives in San Diego. Retired at 33 years old after some investment deal he made with some money he inherited. Not the smartest guy i've ever met, but stupid lucky.

.... anyway

^^ Not while parked. I promise you. It is not illegal to have red/blue flashing all over your car, parked in a parking lot. Wheels moving, yes. Stopped w/ keys off, no.

EDIT: Now that's not to say it's wise to test the law or that a cop wouldn't actually tell you to turn them off, but I guarantee you'll win in a court if it ever went that far.

EDIT 2: Well then I see this...

"Unless otherwise authorized by the commissioner of public safety, no vehicle shall be equipped, nor shall any person drive or move any vehicle or equipment upon any highway with any lamp or device displaying a red light or any colored light other than those required or permitted in this chapter.
Subd. 3.Flashing lights."

So... That'd probably blow my previous statement out of the water. I guess if a cop really wanted to bust you on it, he probably could depending on your states wording. In the instance I was speaking of, we were all parked at a car meet sorta deal so cops weren't there to bust anyone, just keep the peace. I'm sure in a different situation it might not turn out the same. ... I'll go kick myself in the junk now. :(

Red and blue are the only lights you're not allowed to use. you could have a f**king green and pink ass spotlight on top of your car in a parking lot and they couldn't do s**t except give you a disturbing the public ticket if someone complains.
