haha nice ^^^ post some pics on here....i wanna see how its turning out !!
ok, I'm heading out to work on it some more in about an hour or so. I also gotta get more paint for the bay, and then get some more wire. But good thing I have the Technician repair manual. That way i know what wires i need to keep, and what need to go away. I know I can get rid of the condenser relay, AC wires, and some other things. So i think i'll have less wiring to do than some.

i had to extend wires on BOTH sides....ill get pics tomorrow !!!!

trust me its more of a hassle then it looks lol ....ill be on day 4 tomorrow and im still workin on getting the wires into the cabin...... first i cut the wires about 3/4 of the way toward the FRONT (so their was more wire in the back of the bay to go into the cabin)....and then stuck the wires towards the BACk of the bay in thru the bottom hole into the cabin.....then i extended the wires towards the FRONT of the car..(make sure you take off front bumper and both fenders)...i then labeled the wires.....then next im going to loom them and then run them thru the fenders into the cabin.....its not to hard....but you need a lot of wire.....i had to buy like 5 40ft rolls of 18 gauge wire to make it work.....at like 5 bucks a piece so i spent around 25 bucks on wire....

for the drivers side .....i cut the wires the same way as the passanger.....but instead im going to drill a hole right below my vacuum manifold....( ive already checked to make sure it wasnt going to interfere with anything) .....and then run the wiring harness thru the firewall.....then i already extended the rights towards the FRONT of the car (like headlights, and other misc)......i labeled them....and then im going to loom them and run them the fender....then into the cabin......on the fender it already has holes for the wires to go thru into the cabin.....its actually quite nice....ill get pics !

i also moved around my injectors ....well atleast moved the resistor box to the inside as well.....theirs 2 wires on each injector.....one wire goes to a wiring harness behind the intake....and the other wire goes to the resistor box.....well the ones that go to the harness i just cut...and moved around.....the ones that go to the resistor box i had to cut.....extend about 2-3 feet.....and then moved them into the cabin.....their is also another 2 wires that connected into a power wire for the resistor box that i had to extend as well....

i still need to buy new terminals for the battery since im moving it to the back and im using 4 gauge wire to go to the starter....and to the fusebox (that was on the passanger side strut tower) (which is now in the cabin)
their ya go....i just ran them in thru the fender and kinda tucked them behind everything under the dash until i ran them out thru the firewall and connected them back up.....i just left them mostly behind the motor....like all the big plugs and stuff.....

More or less was, where UNDER the dash did you hide them. Cause when I went to hide the drivers side, it got in the way of the clutch pedal and the brake pedal. I'll figure it out, I think ill just have it go around the steering column and hook back up with the passenger side harness.

i might have some pictures to contribute...

here's a picture with some unfinished wires:

the clutch wasnt in the way much at all of the wires... BTW, before u finish, make sure you zip tie or tape the wires better then in this pic, this is not a finished picture.

Thanks. I just gotta drill the hole in the fire wall for the master cylinder cap wires, injector wires, and that should be it for that side. Then I need to put all the engine wires, sensors, and the little things you can't leave out. I also hope to have the whole thing done by the end of the month. its kinda hard to work on it when i get off at 5 and have only a few minutes of light left. plus i still have to do the mpfi swap as well

dont drill a hole. theres no reason to drill any holes.

3 weeks is a LONG time to be doing this. do yourself a favor and go to Home Depot and buy yourself a utilty light and extension cord.

my wire tuck took two days. of a couple hours of work.

well i figured out why the car wouldnt start with the battery in the cabin....i forgot to have a ground wire from the tranny to the frame ....oops.....i put some new ground wires on today for the battery and left the tranny one off....and it wouldnt start....so i put the wire from the tranny to the frame and it started right up....soo ill probably be moving the battery into the cabin again on monday....

yea apekd you just have to go around some stuff to get the wires away from the pedals....its not that hard though lol....just tuck it above some s**t....

i also got the new SI throttle cable put in....its like half the size of the old one lmao.....but it fixed the sticking problem so no more HIGH idle

ill get some pics once i move the battery AGAIN lol

well its taking a long time for me to do it cause i have little time....right now I just got wisdom teeth pulled....so I cant really move around for the next few days......I found out how to hide it, so when I get to working on it again i should have it done after another few hours of work

how do you drive your car in the corners? are you aggressive at all?

the reason i ask is because if you are aggressive cornering at all, i would definately suggest some kind of hold down for that battery. if that thing flips over and spills or grounds itself out you are looking at a LOT of serious problems. Battery Acid never goes away, and fires arent always easy to put out on the side of the road. Grounding the battery out for a couple seconds can fry your entire harness....everything.

just drill some 1/4" holes, get some 1/4" all-thread, some 1/4-20 nuts and a hold down. don't use anything conductive for the hold down without an insulator. the battery could slide and ground itself out that way too.
