Ok I want some opinions, input, and answers if I can get some. First off, I dont want a DIY or anything like that so dont get me wrong. I want to get some input from you guys, mostly people who have done it, what it entails. What all can be removed from the motor? What don't you need?

I have a 99 Civic EX automatic. This winter I want to start wire tucking and removing some stuff to make my engine bay look cleaner and have some more room. When you wire tuck are you running all your wires in the frame rail? Also are any of you guys running stand alone that do it because I know that cuts down on the wires alot.

If anybody has any pictures that would also be appreciated. I guess what I am getting at is....
1) What can be removed? What dont you need?
2) Where are you tucking?
3) What other mods have you done (ie fabricating engine components, brackets, etc)

If you dont have info dont post I dont want a bunch of people telling me to go look, I want input on it from people who have done it.

Thanks again guys for your help in advance. :P

I know that there's a pic of the floating sp00n engine somewhere on this site. perfect example of excellent wire tucking.

I love that car and engine, I want to know how people friggen paint their engines the same color as their car. We have no engine paint around our area that is anywheres near that color!

I know duggiefresh said he didn't want a DIY, but for everyone else that wants to know how to do this could someone post one up so everyone knows where there is one. I haven't been able to find a DIY on it yet.

Blazed is that your motor?

That hatch is def clean.

I know the washer bottle can come out, and the air intake can also be rounted differently which is no problem. And I know about shaving the holes and stuff but does anybody have any pictures they took while they were wire tucking? How they ran there cars, where they ran the wires. Are you running them through the framerails into the car or under the firewall? Where?

That hatch is real clean, but these are the cleanest engine bays I have ever seen, tucked, shaved, and smoothed...

Wire tucking and engine smoothing is a HUGE thing with VW's and I have seen it done with them many times before. I was just looking to see some Honda motors done so I can have some ideas of how it looks, what it takes.

The battery can also be relocated under the car in the rear if you fabricate a mount, or use a Optima battery with Optima batter holder. Where are you relocating your fuse panel to? Under the dash, inside the glove box? Are alot of people taking out the AC and PS?

Its not that I dont want a DIY because I will def do a DIY and take lots of pictures when I do my own, but I would rather hear the input directly from you guys gives me a better perspective than reading somebodys stories you know?

fuse box into the glove compartment is what I'm doing when I get the chance.

There's ways to tuck the wires without even cutting them. There's no real clear cut way to route the wires...just get them out of there. Take off all of the clips and mess around till you find where they work.

Alot of people pull the headlight harness and run it through the inner fender. Take the engine harness and run it under the intake manifold. Get an aftermarket fuel filter and relocate it under the intake manifold. Just remember that with a battery relocation it has to meet certain specs if you go to the track...that's why I'm keeping it in the bay.

Importfan, thanks for the picture that explains alot, fuse box actually fits in there pretty snug huh?

Keep the pictures and info coming.

Also I see in some of the other pictures there are no intake pipes, are people running bellowed openings with grilles? Whats the deal with that?
