Any how to's out there about wiring city lights in a EK hatchback? I have a pair of SiR headlights from Password. I also got the Password wiring harness that connects to the city lights, but what other wires do I need to tap?

one of you wires should be spliced into your parking lights.

Look at your turn signal there are three wires.. Tap into the red wire...

Run your other wire to ground.... Ground it on the chasis somewhere near

Anybody have any idea of the city lights staying on with your high beams is a issue with inspection?

That link posted above works just fine, it's how I set mine up.

The true JDM way is to disable the constant power to corner lights (so they only come on when you signal), and for your city lights to come on as parking lights and stay on with your low and high beams.

That's how I did mine..
Power to red..
but I grounded mine to the signal wire ground (black) so that when I take my headlights off, i dont have to worry about taking out any ground wires..

for some reason, I think it looks weird when my citylights are on while my headlights are on.. I dont like the orange/white tint it gives off :what:

Okay so the red wire from the city light harness can gets taped into the red wire of the turn signal bulb, and the black wire from the city light harness gets taped to the black wire of the headlight bulb?

they will shine brighter if you ground them directly to the chasis... it wont have to split voltage with the turnsignal and it will operate at its highest capacity since its wired in parralel and not in series

blackhope, your talking about grounding the black to the chasis as compared to taping in to the black wire of the head light bulb correct?

the only reason is cause somebody else on the site said they got a brigther shine from taping into the black wire of the headlight bulb instead of grounding to the chasis.

yep im talking about grounding it on the chasis..

it doesnt hurt to try both but mathematically and in theory it will be brighter my way...

I guess its a personal preference Im going to wire mine so that I can turn them off and on when I want, but mine right now are wired so that they come on with the parking lights.. but some like them on all the time so I dunno

are you referring to how they are in japan?^

alright, I followed the directions on here. they work and power. but, i thought that they were suppose to turn off with your head lights? or do I need to use a relay for that to turn the city lights off when the head lights come on? how do others have them wired? Just to turn on with your parking lights, and head lights? i'm not to much worried about how they are wired in japanese cars. sundown, yours come on with parking and stay on with head lights?

the DIY posted above has the ground going in to the red and yellow or white wire from the head lights to cut off the city lights?
