Im so glad CC is full of scientist. If it were not for CC I would be in a stage of panic.

umm...no i believe that 1 kelvin = 457.87 degrees Fahrenheit so ur telling me that 4000 x 457.87 = 10,000 ?
must be something wrong with ur math or something idk but u can google it kelvin to fahrenheit and u will get ur answer
i think ur talking about the surface. he says the star or whatever it is will pass right through the sun meaning through the core as well which can rise up to 27 million degrees F
lol no. 1K = -457.9F but that doesn't mean you multiply -457 by 6000 . it's a ratio of 1:1.8 so every 1K that you rise, the F rises 1.8

6000K = 10,340F

plasma cutters are hotter than the surface of the sun and run like 15-25kF. i believe the core is like 27 million F b/c that's where the nuclear reactions are occuring

oh snap someone paid attention in 2nd grade science :D and to back you up even further.. LINKS TO SOURCES :D

Difficulty: nOOb
Instructions

1.
Step 1

Determine if you will convert the Kelvin temperature to Celsius or Fahrenheit. If you want to convert it to Fahrenheit, skip to Step 3.
2.
Step 2

Subtract 273.15 from the Kelvin temperature if you want to convert it to Celsius. This is the Celsius temperature in degrees.
3.
Step 3

Multiply the Kelvin temperature by 9/5 if you want to convert it to Fahrenheit.
4.
Step 4

Subtract 459.67 from the number you calculated in Step 3. This is the Fahrenheit temperature in degrees.

yes that was i was saying the core. not the surface. bcuz it said it will go right through the sun.
