bov releases the shockwave sent by the air hitting the throttle plate when it is slammed shut. so if you rev it up and let off the gas, it should blow off

Not true.. I got my car tuned and unless you're moving the BOV doesn't really blow off at all 'cause the boost doesn't build up when you sit and rev. I got it tuned at Evans and he said that's how it should be, works great!

the more you're on it the more the bov goes off.
