i've always heard that they are well worth the $1200+ they usually go for, so for $700 it dosn't seem too unreasonable

Dude stop posting.

I generally don't like saying that cheaper is better but to be honest you're just paying for the name. When I get around to getting seats in the spring I'll just end up getting some Yonaka's.

I just noticed that the auction ended but those seats looked like they were in terrible condition. If you really want Recaro's go for it but don't buy seats in that shitty of condition.

i TOTALLY disagree... recaro seats (for example) are extremely high quality.. they are FIA approved and meet the requirements of most (if not all) sanctioned racing bodies... most cheap seats do not, and are actually IMO unsafe...

i could not agree more!

Haha not you! Mr. I post 8 times in a row in a cryptic language.

You bring up a good point. I never really thought of it that way. But Recaro's can't be the cheapest of the widely approved seats. Not that I have anything against Recaro's, if fact I'd love to get some. But damn I just can't justify the money for that. My entire turbo setup cost less than a pair of Recaro's.

I'd go for some new Corbeau's and not waste my money on some used seat.
Every Corbeau seat I've ever sat in has been like a park bench. They were way too wide, and I'm pretty sure they weren't the wide models. (Maybe they aren't all like that, but that has been my experience :what:)

lol don't listen to this guy he don't know. recaro seats are heavier than oem ones for sure. they do hug better, and are only comfortable depending on the person. i'm small so they fit me good. leaning the seat back is a pain in the ass, and u can't use a center console (ek) or u'll f**k the knobs up. they are def not the most comfortable for long trips, and if ur big they will hug to tight, enough to squeeze the s**t of ur nuts and make u super uncomfortable.
Steel frame seats might be heavier than oem, but fiberglass or carbon ones definitely aren't.

I dont' have a Recaro seat, but I have a Buddy Club seat, and its not at all uncomfortable for long trips. In fact, with tight suspension, I think its way more comfortable than the stock seat. And it would be tight if you're heavyset, but it helps keep my weight in check.

Also look try n get BRIDE seats if u can...
BRIDE seats = cool points
So do Recaros. I happen to prefer Bride myself, but they both make awesome seats

I don't know man. I just bought a corbeau clubman seat with custom rail and slider for just under $400, and let me say that it is extremely comfortable, and not too wide at all, but i am a pretty small guy.

I dont know what your setup is, but with my setup right now, theres A LOT of other stuff that id rather spend my 7 billls on than the seats.......although i wouldnt mind having them.
