well i started building my "racecar"
i used the camera more for the pictures. il make a nice little vid later but for now.. enjoy
well before you ask, i stuck with d series cause there cheap like me
the z6 motor/z6 head/z6 auto tranny and s20 manual tranny came to 180 + b series header. the motor/head/auto tranny had about 100k on them but idk how many miles are on the 5spd tranny.
the difference is, a full b series vtak swap goes for about $2,000.
now i picked up the stuff i needed for around 100 (selling the head and auto tranny). now for another 600, i put in eagle rods, vitara pistons, 4 puck clutch and arps. the turbo setup i bought was around 600. i sold the mani and bought a new one for 150. bigger intercooler was 200. the ems came to 400 with jumper harness.
add that up..
swap - 100
built bottom - 600
turbo setup - 600
mani - 150
ic 200
ems- 400
injectors - 220
cam gear -50
so in total $2320 for around 300hp (300hp is my goal. people have made 400hp on this setup)
meanwhile a gsr swap goes for around $2000 with only 180 hp.

got the motor out at like 330.
hours later..
swapped the head to the z6. i was running a breather so all the oil built up. brake cleaner ftw! i also had a problem with the arps. the z6 ones threads are lower in the block then the d16y8. it f**ked me up but i got em working.
my "polyurathene" mounts. i used window weld make them stiff. they were broken so i think.. broken mounts + $20 window weld = racecar mounts!
dont mind the ziptie.. it keeps my dizzy cap on.

motors back together and in the car. i got the mounts and most of the stuff on top of the car done. it took forever for me to get the slave cylinder thing on. then i ran into a problem with the belts. the z6 crank pulley is different then the y8. it sucks. i put the old red valve cover on so the new one doesnt get dirty. i learned from the last swap that gray doesnt stay clean.

it looks like a car again lol. everythings bolted up. i put the rest of the poly stuff inside the shift linkage. hopefully it will make it stiff. i gotta run to honda tomarrow to pick up a pvc valve and an alternator belt. should be rolling tomarrow.. :fingers crossed:
