I'm a bit torn on what to do about my gauges for my new turbo kit.
I previously had a vac/boost (30 psi), fuel pressure, and EGT gauge. I've sold the EGT gauge with the old turbo kit and removed the other gauges for the time being. They were all mounted at the a pillar (picture below). Since i've been driving around without the a pillar gauges i've really come to enjoy the gauges not being there.
So, now that i'm about to get the new turbo built i need to figure out which gauges i want to run and where. I've got an electronic boost controller, so a boost gauge isn't really necessary. It would be nice to see when i start to hit boost, but isn't necessary. I shouldn't need to worry about over boosting either. So i think a boost gauge might be out.
This leaves me with a fuel pressure and what?
wideband O2?
oil pressure?
oil temp?
Ideas?
And for location. I'm thinking that i'll put them in the cd slot in the dash. I could run 2 or 3 gauges there. Not exactly easy to read while driving, but i shouldn't need to be staring at them and they are hidden. No one can tell i'm running anything until they hear that turbo spool.
So, your thoughts?
