yea they dont do any thing... a friend or mine actually got one of the 60$ ones and put it on his Nissan frontier and he actually uses it on a daily basis and says that it dose something... but all i think it dose is waist battery life and make a crappy wine noise when it is on... and at idle i had him turn it on and it sounds like someone is putting their had over the intake... and sounds like it is going to die... but he thinks it is from the extra air it is getting... lol but i wouldnt waste my money... just like spending 20$ on a resistor to put in place of the intake sensor that tricks the computer into throwing in more gas in even tho it dosnt need it (and probably dose more bad then good)... that is one i wish i would have thought of... i could have make MILLIONS!!!!

we have samples of some similiar like those at school. it was one that looks like the cold side of a turbo, had a little box attached to to which is then attached to the battery directly. it spins a fan inside the turbo creating and pushing air into the intake. guess what, its all PLASTIC, yay.

we tested this on a dyno in a scion xb, 95whp stock, with the platic turbo fan, you gain a whopping 2whp. we calculated that it added like 1lb of boost.

now, we had one similiar to the link that the OP gave, wasnt all that fancy, it was metal, and didnt spin, and it sat inside the intake. we tested it again on the same scion xb, and final result.... 95whp. NO GAINS, whatsoever.

^no, its just a plastic fan.. no need for a bov, or a wastegate, or charge pipes, or etc... just a good ole 12v battery ;)

I think it's just because of the society we live in these days, people just want things instantly so they are willing to go cheap like $200 to increase the horsepower of their car instead of saving up some more money to do real mods... either that or they're completely stupid.

Of course people want things sooner than later, and why would you want to save up and spend more if you could do the same thing for less. If instead of a $2000 turbo setup you could get the same results with a $50 fan, why the heck not? Its just people selling a misleading product and people actually believing them. If you could get 30 hp and get better mileage out of a $50 fan, then why bother do other stuff?

It would be pretty cool if you could get the gains everything claims. Imagine getting 15 hp from an intake, 15 from a header, 10 from a high flow cat, and 15 from a catback, and 15 from a $10 resistor..... unfortunately I think some people truely think they will get that and add it all up.
