This may sound a bit messed up, but we just put the dog in the backseat with a lot of pillows on the floor and around him when going for trips in the mountains...we can usually fly the curves and he will just lay there asleep but for the times he is caught off guard the pillows are there to cushion his impact...may want to try it...
Thanks for the info. The biggest prob is that I can hardly get her to lie down in the car. She'll lie down only if we've been on the move for more than an hour.

Slambed_Civic- maybe you should chill out a little bit man, I was just joking around. If you like cats then get a cat, I wasnt trying to seriously bash you.

One 6- Thats a beautiful dog. All of my dogs are from the rescue too. Got my border collie first, then a chow, then a shepard/rot mix, then the chow passed, then my mom got a schnoodle. It really does seem like they know what youve done for them though, even though Ive never had a dog that wasnt from rescue, they just normally seem to really appreciate things a lot.

With that big dog in the pics I recently put up...we do the same teqnique, but have two cargo carriers that we place over the rear seats so that he cannot get up...he is 100plus pounds and it seems that is the best for him...when all three are together we do the same...just throw them in the back and cover them up...lol...

I absolutely love the wagon...before I had an 02 EX and just hated the trunk...when I was looking for a hatch...I would lay the seats down in the back to make sure there would be enough room for the dogs...they just go with us everywhere no matter the length of the trip and luckily none of them get car sick...the backs of the rear seats/trunk looks like a huge furball of white/light brown...

Anyone else with dogs use a seatbelt harness too?

I bought a seatbelt for Chloe and she's great in the car now. She used to be okay, but would run back and forth. As soon as I realized we'd have her for awhile, I went and got one. It only cost $20 or so tops.

What I do is let her into the backseat first (blanket already laying down). She gets into the far seat. Then I get in and sit next to her (this discourages her from moving around too much). I have her sit, facing forward as much as possible. I put the car's seatbelt through the seatbelt harness' slot on the back and buckle her in.

She'll ride calmly, able to sniff out the corner of the front window when it's down or lay down in the backseat.

i've been thinking about getting one for sora, but i know she'd hate it... does it work for the backseat? i don't let sora ride on the passenger seat because that window is usually all the way down. if you could take a pic of your setup, i'd love it =)

btw, what do you guys use to remove dog hair from your seats? i was using one of those rolly sticky brushes, but i can go through two whole replacement rolls and not even have a quarter of the surface area done.

^^^For the hair, I use the local car cleaner...they are GREAT and an interior clean is only $8...the guy over it just throws like ten mexicans on the car and usually about four of them just clean all the hair...it always gets up though...

Chloe always rides in the backseat. She's never up front.

I'll see if I can get a photo later on today. I'm about to leave for work right now.

As long as I keep a blanket down I don't have an issue with fur too much. But Chloe has short hair that doesn't catch wind that well.

Caramel, Cockapoo, 11 months old. Very dumb and clumsy, a huge klutz that you'll find cute. Will ride (and sit quietly) in the back seat of my hatch.

Zoe, Schnoodle, 2 years old. She is very intelligent...Will fight to sit in the front passenger seat, barks at anything that passes in her view lol.

The above pics were taken in august, this is the most recent picture of them that I have.
