just do it yourself. use the install dr. civic's are so easy to install, it should be illegal to have it professionally done. hhahahah (kidding).
i used to install decks for all the cars in my neighborhood, and civic's were the quickest. i also worked in my friend's car audio shop.
materials needed:
1) Install.DR. .pdf
2) mounting kit (plastic border shape thing). (~$15)
3) wire harness (aka: "Snap-on wire harness" according to Install dr on top of page 8) "For Honda civic + year" (~$5).
4) electrical tape or wire connectors(recommended).
a Wire Harness (aka"Snap-on wire harness" according to Install dr on top of page 8) is to match your car's colored wires to the deck's colored wires because they're coded different colors. just match up and connect the same wire colors of the deck's wires with that wire harness thing and then plug it into your car, instead of cutting your own car's wires. Another reason to use a wire harness is that if you decide to replace the deck in the future, it's just plug-and-play. all you need to do everytime is connect the new deck's wires to the harness and plug it into your car. InstallDr will tell you everything. it says that Snap-on wireharness is "Optional", but i wouldn't go without it. besides, if you use that, you can disregard all the color code charts in the pdf. just match up the colors.
before you do anything, unplug the negative battery port so you don't pop any fuses. You pop fuses when the unconnected wires touch each other. To avoid this all together, connect the Snap-On wire harness to the deck's harness before plugging anything in. This way, you don't have to unplug the batter port because nothing touches. Also, make sure you have the security code for your stock deck if it has one, before taking it out.
THAT'S IT!
Tip:
i would recommend that you bolt down the deck in the back so that people can't pull it out from the front. There's a screw hole in the back of the deck. bolt that to one of the car's panels inside the car with some sort of metal strip. If you buy a new deck, it should include the screws and the metal strip inside the box, if not, homedepot. This way, the robber has to go thru all the car panels to get behind the deck like you did.
if not, I'll show you how to slide out decks from the front in 15 seconds another day
.
by the way, get the newer version of alpine 9884: Apline 9886. it looks SO MUCH better with the new font technology ! I've used both in person and the difference is black and white. Also, the 9886 has more features to mess with. you can get 9886 from ebay for 150-200; best buy: 300+tax.
