thanks! believe it or not i actually did it all in lightroom! (minus border and signature).Coutts, sick pictures bro... what did you do in PS with this pictures? :-)
you must be a good boy, then you'll get ithoping for a dslr for christmas, we'll see though!
thanks for the write up, i might give that a try sometime...ive had lightroom for a looooong time, just barely ever use itLOL. well i'm sure shooting in raw helped too haha.
i used the gradient tool, to apply an exposure adjustment gradient to the sky, i set the EV value down 1.5 on the sky and it faded into the foreground, so i got a realistic "nd filter" effect i guess you could call it. (read about this technique in a photog magazine that morning at borders haha)
then i applied the same idea, but made it adjust the saturation, and increased the saturation of the sky to bring osme more color to it, and viola! it honestly transformed the whole picture. then i just added some contrast and added my signature and a border.
its really quite simple ;-)
you really should take a look at lightroom, i was skeptical before too, i always said "wtfs the point, just do it in photoshop" but its really neat. my favorite feature is the gradient tool.
thanks! i know a polarizer would help, but like i said i'm only borrowing the camera lol. i had a polarizer for it last time, but i returned it because i needed some extra cash. i'm unemployed now, so i can't even afford a polarizeri can recover sky's like that in PS non raw, but i think you need a polorizer filter, you could do some wonders with one, but great pics nonetheless coutts
break it out sometime, nobodys gonna judge youthanks for the write up, i might give that a try sometime...ive had lightroom for a looooong time, just barely ever use it
Lens openings dictate filter size, I have to carry three different sizes with me for different pieces of glass.if there was a car at the bottom of the pic it would be even better! Preferably something like a EVO or STI.
I also have a really noob question here, I plan on buying a few different filter for my D60 and I am just wondering what size(mm) or filters I should buy. I am guessing they will be 52mm but with different lens' does the diameter change? I have the 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens'. Thanks. Also, if you were to recommend some filters what would they be? I know for sure I want a circular polarizer and UV filter but I don't know what company is respectable or not, also if there is any different kind of filters that are neat and worth having I'd like to know.
