Hey Connie, know any good shops around the JAX area?
Not really.

Well of course besides Velocity Trends and Stage 6. When Velocity Trends was f**king up motor swaps at the time, they were taking it to this kid whom was across the way with his own private shop (whom was the only one in town doing k20 swaps into 5th gen hatchies). His name was Phinel. That was my go to guy in Jax. But since then he's closed up his shop, focused on going back to school, raising his family and doing honest work through Sprint as a rep.
-Velocity Trends is a jack of all trades. They carry parts, do swaps, and do dyno tunes. Depending on which one of their area shops, my store was on the SouthSide of Jax off Atlantic Blvd, They had a few shady mechanics but the main owner whom started the shop from scratch many years ago was the only one that had any knowledge and patenice with customers. I can't remember his name to save my life.
-Stage 6 focuses more on higher-end customized swaps and customizing the car itself. The guys there were kinda shady, but were talking 5 to 6 years ago now.
Now Adrian, I know there are TONS of reputable shops in Orlando, Tampa, Y-Bor, and Miami. There's a fairly newer one in Gainesville if I'm not mistaken too. Browse through the South East section on here. I know there are many shops mentioned off and on... even CC meets.
Thanks for the insight Connie! Well One Six wasnt shady by any means, its just that the guy sounded lost once i start talking about internals and tech. And it seemed like they were more geared towards selling parts and accessories. He says they have a dyno there but it isnt set up yet. He didnt give me a straight answer when i asked about tuning experience. Awesome shop though, they have so much stuff!
ProFunction, I keep hearing that name. They dont seem big on the internet at all because i dont hear anyone talking about them. What i do find though is good stuff. They sound reputable so far. One guy on another forum reported of his 246whp full street trim b-series on pump gas that he races and has them maintain. I found that they do alot of dyno testing for r&d and they post some of the results on Honda-Tech. A co-worker of mine also says that these guys street race. He claims to have seen an all motor EG from them race for money against a built evo on the southside, with the EG winning. I dont know if i want to go to a shop where they do stuff like that. Seems kind of shady.
I'll try Suja1 this week but so far all i can dig up from them is a crx k20 build(with no results so far) and a popular summer bbq which i cant wait to attend. Whip Factory has some ruthless cars on their website. I did call them a little while back before i moved up here and the guy on the phone was a total douche. He wasnt real helpful and had alot of bad things to say about the other local shops.
I appreciate the help so far everyone. My work gave me an 4500 dollar bonus for my promotion and move. My brother and I have moved in with family so it costs even less for rent. I've got a good amount of money saved up and i need to rebuild my k20 since it hasnt been so healthy since the 100shot i abused too often. My brothers' b20vtec needs service and a checkup. He is long overdue. For now i'll be spending my bonus money on jackets and sweaters because Illinois is cooooollllllldddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No prob Jay.

The thing with Mark is even though they have the dyno, it is they were having trouble getting permits through Elk Grove Village because of, you know, it's in the ground and if any fluids, oil, and s**t like that gets into the water system... blah blah blah. It's more of a f**king hassel to deal with it in ground. So he was thinking of just selling the damned thing and try to purchase one of the above ground ones instead, so they can maintain it better without that hassel.
Mikey is a racing addict. I s**t you not! I know Mikey is the main owner of Profunction. Him and my husband shoot the s**t whenever were at the track. He took over a old friend of mine, Dylan's shop which use to be "DS1 Motorsports" that was more of a Subaru/ Nissian shop. As long as you trust what Mikey says and you both have an agreement of what you realisticly set a goal for your car, everything should be smooth sailing when he tunes it for you. Nothing shady about him at all or at least that I'm aware of. Anyone else from the shop might be questionable.
The other guys... eh, there's a reason why I don't deal with them. That's pretty much gotta say alot.
100 shot of what? Nitrous?
