guys, if you need helmets, just drive over to TF. they have HJC's in stock, all sizes. best deals around.

all kinds of shield options also

AND they come with a sweet TF (or custom) shield banner
do they have a website by any chance?

Nice man,

So is M2005 above SA2000? I know nothing about helmets.
They're different Snell standards. The M stands for motorcycle standards, SA for Auto racing standards. The SCCA accepts both. Here's the differences:

helmetcity.com said:
1.) SA standard requires flammability test while the M standard does not;
2.) SA standard allows narrower visual field than M standard (Some SA helmets may not be street legal);
3.) SA standard has rollbar impact test while M standard does not.
Every 5 years Snell updates it's standards, that's what the 2000 or 2005 is for, 2005 being the latest standards. Most SCCA solo2 events will let you run up to 2 generations prior to the newest, meaning you have until 2010 to use a Snell SA1995 or M1995, and a SA2005 or M2005 is good 'till 2015 (according to the current rules).

Plus Bike helmets are not only much cheaper, they're more readily available (any decent bike shop will carry a wide selection). Since I didn't want crazy graphics, just a plain white helmet, I had to custom order mine. No big deal, didn't cost me extra (and I got 20% off). Hopefully it comes in next week.

I should mention that I bought this helmet to last me this season. Once I have a bigger racing fund I'm buying an Arai helmet (SA2005 of course).

the general rule is 10 years from current snell approval

so the current approval is SA05, so SA95 and up is still OK.

when SA10 comes out, it will be SA00 and up that will be ok for racing.

if you are tracking your car get and SA rated helmet, NOT M, it will be ok for parking lot autoX's and such but a lot of tracks dont allow that motorcycle helmet crap for racing

s**t, most of the autoX's ive been to you could probably get away with a darth vader helmet if you wanted to..

and once again for the shameless plug

www.tougefactory.com for all your helmet needs.

i would not order a helmet online, its better to try them on and make sure you get one that fits right.

We are still trying to avoid surgery on my dogs ass. Sh has some sort of infection that mostly attacks german shepards. But she has it. And the vet told us that it may go away it may never go away. If it goes away it might come back.
