JRSC Questions

hello everyone. i have a JRSC on my D16z6 and the belt seems to squeak when i rev it up. the belt is on pretty tight but it seems to keep squeaking. i have an 11 pound fly wheel on, could this be that the motors revs to fast for the belt to catch, or what. and also when i drive the car, the car sometimes seems to have power gains. like it feels like i hit the gas a little but i didnt. the car is not tuned could this be why ? and my last question what is psi on the stock pulley ? mine reads around 4 or 5 psi. well thats it thanks alot everyone.

well its only on 5 psi, so its not going to do any damage to the motor. god your acting like i pushing 20 psi !

name calling isnt going to get you the answerers you want...5 lbs can do some serious dmg. i have seen it first hand. melted a piston on a gsr.

he is right though you def need to get it tuned. that may be why your feeling power surges..it may be going from lean to not lean and therefore your gaining and losing power. Also on your belt...just get a new one there gonna be the same as any other belt on the car. if the alternator belt starts to squeak..ya get a new one. the SC belt is no dif.

ummm actually im 100 percent american. and i do know what i am talking about. im 15 and this is my first civic. i bought it from a guy with it already having the supercharger on there. and buy the way it runs i can tell it hasnt had a tune. and the guy said that he dont think it has had a tune. i know when u have any forced induction or anything done to the engine it needs a tune. IM NOT STUPID. and yes i am a noob. i just started getting into civics a few months ago. so WHAT ! and next time someones ask a question on here how about actually helping them and not being a d**k saying " i hope your motor does blow up" dude grow up. im 15 and i bet im more mature than you. what are you on here for if your not going to help anyone with there problems.

Wow, says you've been on here since 05. Have you been a douche bag that long or did you learn it from hondatech? The guy clearly should have a tune if he's doing any serious amount of driving or hitting any mid to upper rpm; no argument there. But maybe you'd be better off not calling someone a newb all the time or saying you hope he blows his motor.

OP, have you checked to see if there's a specific torque spec for the tensioner bracket or tension specd for the belt? Check the belt for any fraying or other visual damage. Any mileage on the supercharger kit?

hey thanks man. but i think i found out what the squeaking was. the bottom pulley that the opposite side of the belt runs on has some play in it. i think the bearings are bad in it. idk imma have to check it out. but when i start driving in 2 weeks im prolly gonna be doing some hard driving, so im going to end up getting it tuned. could i tuned it with a stock, chipped ecu, or would i have to buy a hondata or something ?

Chill the f**k out goddamn. He said he bought the car that was already supercharged, he's 15 years old I'm surprised that he even knows what a tune is, why the f**k are you hating. He came to this forum to learn and you're just rejecting him without even answering any of his questions, no wonder people ditch this forum and go to honda-tech instead. Just calm the f**k down, he's a noob I think we already established that in the first post, there's no need to keep hatin. You should start teaching him stuff about forced induction and cars in general instead of just trying to get him out of here.

Tune. When i was 15, i could have never imagined having SC'd car. I had a 1991 civic dx w/ intake and exhaust. Everybody need to stop trying so hard to hate on you and just give you some real answers. good luck with your tune!

depends on the ecu....some ecu's you can chip and some you cant.....you need to see which ecu you have....does the ecu you have already have a chip in it ??? you should check cause it might already have a tune....why dont you ask the guy you bought the car from if its tuned ???

what you should do is when you get the money go to www.xenocron.com and buy a chipped ecu with a basemap....then you just take the car and ecu to the tuner and he can hook it up and tune it for you....
