Check the motors, they could be shot, or the wires could be getting grounded somewhere.

what should i be checking the motors for? the drivers side window did work but i had to use a random power wire to get it to work. i'll check on the grounded wires.

hey where is the power wire for the dash lights?

I suggested checking the motors to see if they quit on you, but it definitely sounds like a wire is being grounded out somewhere.

You can.. Find a powered wire and see if they work.

ok so i started at the start with the battery and underhood fuse box and followed it all through,
so i found one fuse for the passenger side wasnt even in the box, so i put the spare in and still nothing. i looked through the wiring at the door and cant figure it out, how do i check the motors? lolol. i have no clue. i dont want to have to take all the wiring out and check it all.... that would suck!

Do you a Voltmeter?
If you do, you can use that to check the wires going to the motors and make sure they are getting power.

yeah i got a voltometer. but do i have to cut the wires or something to check? or just touch it? red to red and black to black.

You don't have to cut the wires, just poke them into the wires is what I do. Red to red, black to black. Remember you have to press the window down button to see if it's getting power. If you aren't getting anything, this could be a couple of things.. 1) The voltmeter isn't getting the power (The probes aren't actually in the wires).. or 2) The wires are being grounded out

ok i shaved the wire insulation off the red and black wires and checked em and got nothing.....yes i did toggle the switch for up and down. so theres also a blue and yellow wire going to the motor. but i got no power coming or going from the motor. if it was blown thered still be power going to it and it would light up the volttometer.

Alot of things could have caused it. Rubbing against a sharp piece of metal, and grounding out on it, screwed into something, ect.

make sure power is passing through it when in the up and down possition for both sides.

If the motors work when jumped, its probably the master switch that has taken a crap on you.

ok....well how can i fix the switches? i took the back panel off the master switch. what else can i do to get into the switch? i'd rather be sure before buying a new master switch. and think the passenger side may be blown but i am working one window at a time. lol

Get a light tester and see if theres is power travveling through the switch when in the up or down possition, obviously with the key on:lol:
