Then I remembered, blu-ray disc's don't scratch.

oh, yes they do.....
they may be a little more scratch resistant... but they certainly can and do scratch

hmm, I dunno, I heard it wasn't really all that easy to scratch them.

Anyways, got my ps3 today. Its a little confusing but I'm figuring it out. I think the 360 is more user friendly.

I think the old user interface was more user friendly, this new one reminds me of that child setting you could put on old macs so everything was just big buttons.... It's way too dumbed down imo

The ps3 wont take long to get used too. Just keep messing with it.

mine detects when the ps3's hdmi signal is inactive and stops sending it, it will re-start the signal when switched back to the ps3

only the ps3 does this, they have a well noted finicky hdmi
kinda funky but liveable

haha me neither. sounds like a tv issue not a ps3 issue

nopers, it's the ps3

The tv goes on working fine, it's the ps3 that resets and pops that little status wheel back up when you switch back to it

and this only happens with the ps3

It's thanks to the ps3's well documented very finicky hdmi system.

Because the system if finicky, not uniformly f**ked up.

The ps3's HDCP support is also very finicky. It works fine with some tv's, others it sends into fits.

It's not that big of a problem for me to do allot of research into it, just a very minor annoyance.

Then just go about your business knowing you're one of the lucky ones with a glitch free ps3/cable/tv combo

I was thinking of just getting component cables and going that route, its less of a headache that way.

My 60GB was out of comission for about 2 months with the YLOD untill a week ago

I resurected it by reflowing the motherboard myself, and used arctic silver 5 on the cpu/gpu heat sink plates. saved myself 150 plus tax.

I hope it lasts untill i get really bored of it lol, for now, im playing the s**t out of it and now that i bought a hard drive i backed it up so i dont have to worry.

Plus i never had a single issue with HDMI, it has worked smoothly. Then again almost every television i have ever owned was a sony.

ps2 BC is awesome, one less system to take space, plus the ps2 games look way better on the ps3. if you play them with the upconversion, and have smooth mapping ON
