i used to race my old 96 Mitsubishi GSX. Now its just sitting because the transmission is messed up. I wanted to turbocharge my 04 honda civic coupe ex em2. I was wondering if you guys know anything about taking the turbo kit off the mitsubishi and building it unto your em2. Any help? please let me know because imma take off the turbo kit and see if it will fit with a custom build. Thanks.:?:

I don't know about an EM2 but when I was going to boost my ej8, i was using a td04hl from a auto dsm. Common parts used off dsms on civics are the turbo and the injectors. Check out the dezod kit for the D17. Whats your power goal?

I had a homemade DSM turbo kit on my hatch for quite a while and it ran hard. I was using a 14b turbo, 1g DSM bov and the DSM smic.

you will not raech those numbers unless you build your motor up for boost.

DSM

Diamond-Star Motors (commonly abbreviated to DSM) was an automobile-manufacturing joint venture between the Chrysler Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC).[1] The name came from the parent companies' respective logos: three diamonds (Mitsubishi) and a pentastar (Chrysler).[2] Diamond-Star Motors was officially renamed Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing of America, Inc. (MMMA) in 1995, four years after Mitsubishi took sole control of the plant, and since 2002 its official title has been Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) Manufacturing Division.[3]

Three of the vehicles produced by Diamond-Star Motors, the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, and Plymouth Laser, are also commonly referred to as "DSMs".[4]

You can reach 200 hp on a d17 without building the motor, but 250 will be pushing the stock cam to its utmost limit. I'm gonna say the only part you would be able to use off that DSM is the turbo.

Ummm... an EM2 can't use arias pistons, unless they were custom made. Wiseco is the only company that makes pistons for the d17. And it only has one camshaft, sohc. You may be able to use other bits and bobs, but you can't use the injectors or the manifold. 250 is attainable on a stock block but the stock cam just runs out at around 240, trust me, I've tested it along with quite a few others.

umm, you can use the intercooler, bov, injectors and maybe even some of the piping. :what:

piping probably wont fit, you can buy piping to match your intercooler inlet/outlet and to fit through your bay and onto your Throttle body...

go to turbod16.com and read the noobie section, it should help out some of your random questions... if not, ask us

spend $350 and get a new transmission for the gsx....

You're going to destroy a car that is $350 away from being on the road for $100 worth of parts.
If you want to rape a dsm for turbo bits for the civic, go to a junk yard

I went for a ride in my friends 600whp dsm last night..... and all I can say it, f**k fwd

I'll leave the keep the dsm intact argument alone and just say a few more things before I sit down and shut up.

There are very limited options for internals for the d17. The ONLY pistons available are made by wiseco. It may be possible to use vitaras but you will need completely custom made one off rods. The only rods are made by crower. Carillo has released a set as well that are identical to the crowers, only they are made out of foreign steel instead of domestic steel. Crower is also the only company that makes off the shelf camshafts for the d17. The stage 2 boost cam seems to get great results. Bisi can make you one too, but it's a little pricier. For the final time, you CAN NOT use DSM injectors in a d17. It is POSSIBLE, but you need a resistor box, possibly an injector driver and a full standalone engine management system, and they still idle like crap. You can use srt-4 injectors and they work just fine. You could possibly use some of the dsm piping, the bov, and possibly the intercooler if you can find a good way to mount it with plenty of air flow. Now dear god please listen. I own an EM2, I've boosted it, I've helped others turbo their d17 powered vehicles. The d17 is a different beast than older d series motors. If there were other options for this stuff, I would tell you what they are and help you in any way I could, but there just aren't. Go check out 7thgenhonda and ask some of those guys with more experience than I and see what they tell you if you don't want to believe me.
