Glow Gauges

I'm looking for some Glow Gauges for my 96 Honda Civic DX Coupe. I'm not exactly sure what to get, because I've never really looked for them before. I was wondering if I should go all out and get a different gauge layout, but I'm not sure how hard it would be, or if I should just get some glow inserts. I'd love to have a Tach in the dash,(Because it's a manual) but it doesn't have one stock. I'm looking to just improve the overall look inside my car, make it a little more interesting. Any help will be welcomed.

Dude if your talking about indigo gauges or whatever dont there pieces of s**t. Just get a 6th gen Si Cluster, or even a Ex cluster. Its a direct plug and play, you just take out your old one unplug it, and plug the new one in. And they both have tachs. You can change the bulbs in them to, to make them light up different colors. And another thing you might wanna watch out, people on this sight dont take very kindly to anything thats ricey.

Ooh, I like that one. But, could you tell me what is considered "Ricey?" I've heard the term, but I'm not sure when it's considered going too far.

Basically everything in The Fast And The Furious movies is considered rice. Its basically stuff that makes your car look like its fast, but in all actuality its slow as hell.

People on this forum usually shoot for JDM, CTR, and Si status. JDM is Japanese Domestic Market which is basically trying to make your American Civic look like one from Japan. CTR is just a Civic Type-R which is the highest end Civic you can buy. And Si is sport injection which is basically the sports edition of American Civics.

Basically just start buying CTR, and JDM, or Si parts to make your car look and drive like the higher end Civics. Si is the cheaper way to go, but CTR is in most opinions the best way to go. Like for example a Si cluster runs around $220, while a CTR cluster runs for around $320. Its really all what you like best though. If your into the whole body kits and neon thing then thats all good, 99% of the people here will dis you and rag on you, but if you like it who really cares. But you'll get tons more respect and support if you dont cheap out and get good quality, official parts. The saying you get what you pay for applies here especially.

Sorry its so long but it took me awhile to grasp the whole concept, and Im just trying to help a fellow noob out. But just search through some build, and members rides threads and you'll start to get the feel for everything.

I do appreciate the help. I understand what is considered too much now. Thankfully, I don't really have anything in my car that is "Ricey", I've just been working on replacing old parts in the engine, and putting new things inside to make it look a little better. Alright, so, let's say I wanted to buy a CTR cluster, around what year should I stay, or do they all plug in the same? I'm just looking for something that will pretty much be just to unscrew a few things and replace it with the new one. Also, is hooking up the Tach and all that very difficult?

Hooking up a tach is not very difficult, just dont buy one of those HUGE tachs with the shift light lol. its completely unnecessary in your case. you can buy a small one and put it in a pod or you can do wat i did and get the dual gauge bezel. it doesnt stand out as much as the gauge pillars and thats y i like it. you can put a tach in one side and watever u want on the other. its up to u. i have oil pressure and volt.

I believe the only CTR cluster you can really buy is a 1996-2000 cluster. So it will fit directly where your old one did. And as for the tach I believe there is no hooking it up with a CTR cluster. I believe you just unplug 3 plugs from your old cluster, and plug in the CTR. Heres a how to on how to remove the cluster.

I just want nice even white lighting with red gauge needles. What do I need to do to get that?

Which are better LEDs, the tri power ones or diffused?

that's too much LED for me. Actually any LED is too much for me. I just mod my own clusters plus the ones I sell. Here's the one in my car now. (no LEDs, just original bulbs)

That one looks nice. A LOT cleaner than the other one that was posted, not so bright and washed out.

Pm details or start a separate thread about it if you would?

I am with the others on not getting the indiglo gauge overlays.

When I bought mine it had the indiglo white gauge overlay on it. The indiglo doesn't light anymore and the stock lighting is barely lighting it up at night.

Id get the reverse indiglo gauges if the had BLACK!! i dunno why every single company only sells white face gauges... make em black and make the graphics white, and light up that blue color (like the VW jettas) or white, red, whatever (color changing feature would be even hotter) and they'd have a winner. id buy one of those in a heartbeat.
