Hey guys, i just noticed last night that when my climate control lights up..it's not amber lighting..just regular white lighting..is this normal? or has the original climate control been taken out and replaced?

only the SI glowed amber. you have a non-si climate control.

Yea the Si interior lighting it suppose to be amber. Its possible that the original one was damaged or even broken due to it getting broke into or something so maybe it was replaced with an EX climate control from eBay or a junk yard. All it is though are the bulbs. Just purchase the OEM Honda bulbs and it will be back to the amber color

wow, thats so bootlegged. i bought this car from a honda dealer and i thought this was the perfect catch. and i saw from the history of services at this dealership that the cluster was sent to be "recalibrated" in what situation should a cluster be recalibrated? did they tamper with the odometer? 63k is pretty low for an EM1

A honda dealership? Honda would never mess with the odometer, its illegal for any dealership to do so without telling you. if you dont want to spend $30 for the amber bulbs, you can use a red/orange marker on the bulb. you'll probably see a blue condom on the bulb. just take it off, might be a little hard.

are you talking about your car? or the original posters car. you said you bought "this" car...so I was curious. But yea like he said...its illegal to tamper with the odometer. Honda wouldn't even think of doing that. must have been another type of service to the cluster

im not worried about spending 30 bucks for bulbs but im just not thrilled to find out that my climate control is not an authentic si climate control..i wanted everything to be bone stock for a peace of mind and then hook it up in the future..idk its something that i shouldn't worry about but..it's just awkward to find this out.

The bulbs arent that expensive at all. I got all 4 oem bulbs for the climate control for like $12. And if you think about it...all the 99-00 civic ex, lx, si climate controls are the same. they just used different bulbs for the Si's.

:word:

Theres no difference whatsoever. Except for the radio which lights up orange.
The only difference is the bulbs which at honda i paid 20 for 4 which is not bad at all
My cluster since i replaced my radio for an aftermarket one looks exactly like the si one and it matches very nicely with my manual crv cluster :D

There really is no such thing as an Si climate control. All 99-00's have the same thing, just different bulbs. It's very likely you do have the original unit and the bulbs replaced. I don't know why anyone would but I don't know why anyone would replace the whole unit either.

It is not against the law to change the odometer mileage. I actually even made a thread covering the laws on Honda-Tech because I got tired of people saying that without knowing.

And to the person who says the dealership could not have messed with the odometer without the owner / new owner being told about it, the one guy who's odometer was messed with WAS told by the dealership.
