that Mayan calender s**t is bogus. It's not the end of their calender rather just the beginning of their new epoch. Some stars and planets are suppose to align but the collective gravitational effect will be miniscule. I would be more concerned about the worlds fresh water supply running out before then.

My theory is the mayans picked a date (2012) and stopped their calender there because they were thinking, so much will be chanegd by then that the people alive then can add on after 2012, get what im saying? Its like the church has a calender that goes ahead 30 years, they will change that calender when they are reaching the 30 year mark.

This theory is actually partially from my astronomy teacher, he made so much sense I hope i didnt confuse anyone who read that..

I agree. Their calender is base 13. So I think 2012 is like 13.13.13.13.13 etc and is gonna hit one more so it would be 1.0.0..etc. No need to do the next base cuz it would be like 78000 years. I'm sure they had more important things to do like sharpen their stone tools and husk some corn.
