ATTN. boost freaks/ parts any good?

Yea, I have looked at my build. I have a bone stock B20 on 11lbs. so whats your point? I could turn up the boost and retune to get to more torque.. Horsepower is a made up number that means nothing!


OBX isnt Ebay, looks like YOUR the one that doesnt know what YOUR talking about.. Ebay sells Tial, skunk 2, and whatever else is on the market. OBX makes half ass decent stuff over the chinese knock off s**t that they package and sell to kids who think its going to last.

So, lets have a discussion and try to save the OP some money..

Cheap wastegate, hmm, what happens when the cheap spring inside distorts from the high heat and OP over boosts and the engine blows.. hope you can drive over to the guy to apologize and help the kid rebuild his engine.

well i didnt mean to get such a heated discution going. and i agree that knock off parts are all to common. now, i do also think you can find deals once in a while and thought i mite see if any one herd of this company before, NOT, debate good part/badpart from ebay. Thanyou all for the info

I can turn the boost too. Your sleeves will fail before mine do.

OBX might not be chineese knockoff s**t but it is knockoff s**t. Look at there products. There manifolds, oil pans, turbo manifolds, strut bars ect. If you trust this s**t why not the rest? What seperates this and ebay if theses are the products right next to eachother on ebay?

As for the wastegate failing, ive never heard of it but I can see its possible. These wastegates have been used on many high horsepower cars. Jeff Evans was encouraging people to try ebay kits. I know a couple of people running these and who drive an hour to work without any distortion.

Think if the wastegate did fail. The wastegate springs holds pressure. Only thing that would happen is you wouldnt build boost. The exhaust gasses would slip out right past the turbo. Thats not going to hurt anything and I dont you can over boost with boost cut. ECtune has it and it works. lol My wastegate line has slipped off before. The car cuts ignition and saves the motor.

hey man, im just trying to let you know theres more people that had to replace cheap parts and it ended up costing the person double than just getting reliabilty.
Speed shops i frequent wont even touch any type of cheap knock off part. some of the tuners tell me horror stories of the wastegates not working and the engine blows up on the dyno when its getting tuned.

Just dont want you to be another story or statistic.

Also, when u get high torque numbers, you wont even get traction on street tires and will have to go easy on the throttle.

I think we have both proven theres 2 sides to the turbo coin.. and its up to the boost noob to figure out what direction they want to go. Im just basing mine on personal experience.
