The new 8 billion dollar national railway project will create jobs but imo its still UNNECESSARY SPENDING.
I agree with this, in washington state our trains are capable of 120+ MPH already, but due to the amount of rail road crossings and stops they are not that efficent. I dont think that a 8 BILLION dollar railway project is the answer to help the economy.

i think if they redid the current railway system to not cross directly through traffic.... as to have a crossing... it would be more efficient .

so at every crossing.. it should either be the rails going over or under... or the cars going over or under.

i know personally.. ive been at a crossing some 30 minutes becasue the train is barely moving. id like to see an improvement on this.

i agree that certain corridors of the country should get high speed rail.. not from tampa to orlando... but like... DC to baltimore. or DC to NY. or NY to BOS. LA to Vegas, LA to san fran.

things like this.

id like to see long distances too.. like the entire east coast.. or entire west coast.. from west coast to denver, to KC to chicago, detroit to DC or NY.

would this be passanger trains or commercial trains? I would find it hard to justify a high speed passanger train from say LA to NY. I doubt that it would be cost efficient due to the ability to fly that same route for a fairly cheap price.

Also, this building a high speed train would only be a temp fix....we dont need a million temp fixes, we need a lasting solution.

I personally think that whoever was elected into this term would have the poorest approval rating. I find these times interesting to see how people react, how the government reacts, and how the solution will be brought.

First, his name is John McCain. With that said, i think its very rude and immature to make a comment like that.
Im sorry my point was I HIGHLY doubt any of those runner up leaders would have done any better In my opinion. Electing a competent leader seems to be more and more difficult.

I'm not reading this mess until you figure out how to create a paragraph and use punctuation.
This is an Informal environment the last thing i want to do is think about form and punctuation and paragraphing i have to write enough papers as it is. This is a forum not a term paper. People have different ways of writing thoughts I don't use punctuation or paragraph spacing in non formal situations. If you don't want to read it thats fine thats your choice.

short of teleporting... i dont see a lasting solution...

and no.. i didnt mean one train from LA to NY... and it would be passenger trains... would be the same as flying... just take a bit longer... and less security.

and to be honest... they should beef up security at rail stations and commuter trains... ive gotten on a train before and never once saw a cop... what if i was a terrorist with a bomb?

to me... if you wanted to do harm somewhere... a bomb on a train is an easier way to go than try on an airplane. just my opinion

i agree to this. the current president knew coming in that it wasnt going to be easy. but i applaud him for taking the risk.. .rather than letting someone else in that isnt going to do s**t.

and he is trying... its just the country is so far in the shitter... its taking longer than expected to turn it around.. and i believe that it will be way past his presidency untill we see an improvement.

i agree about the beefing up security...im all for it. But its the people who b***h about it that make things that seem simple hard. People are throwing fits/lawsuits over the new body scanners at airports, saying it is an invasion of privacy.....IMO if you dont like it, dont fly. :what:

3 quarrels i have with the current system/administration

obama is a figurehead. the only reason that he ever got elected in the first place is that he is a phenomenal speaker.

personally i think that the federal govt needs to back off a little and let individual states run themselves. you know, like it was supposed to work in the first place...

some of these eco taxes that have been proposed/passed scare me... why should i pay an extra tax because i drive a "gas guzzler?" that is the biggest load of bull s**t i've ever heard. it just came out that the whole global warming problem was greatly exaggerated and some of it even fabricated... so why am i being taxed for destroying the environment?

personally as a shadetree mechanic.. im extremely pissed about the cash for clunker program. and the fact that the douchebag dealerships spray painted the engine bays..

making none of the parts useable in there.

they shouldve just left them alone and just put a restriction on the vin number from ever being registered again. not destroy perfectly good engines that people could use.

thats just part of it...my old roomate worked at a dealership...they sized all the engines to make the vehicle no operatable. guess where the money came from.......YOU!!! you also paid for the vehicle to be recycled, and then paid for the person who traded it in to get a new vehicle. Same thing with the cash for washers/dryers. Why should i, (as a tax payer) pay for someone to get a new washer and dryer??

My major problem with the Obama administration is the fact that he is trying to turn The United States into free hand out country.

oh ya....and he shakes hands like a 6 year old girl
