Ah man, im not gonna dwell into this as i've been following the whole thread but haven't posted but the recent post have disturbed me enough to post a random fact.

Sometimes life just screws some people over, and this is my case. my mother works like a hound to make a better living for us (My sister, brother and i) yet we barely make ends meet weather im working or not and she works 24hr's for 5 days (mon-fri) and sometimes sat also and we have no healthcare because her job (home attendant' elderly care) only allows her on her health plan.

Mean while we cant afford to pay for private insurance because we have to make ends meet regardless if were sick or not. we are honest hard working US Citizens but sometimes we need things like this to get by.

i don't like complaining I'm much to proud for that so i dont complain that i haven't been to the dentist in the past 4 years (give or take a cavity my teeth are pristine fyi take good care of'em) cause i can't afford to. The govt see's us making so much money around 2g's me and my mother together a month and say we make to much to receive section 8, food stamps etc when we really are in dire need of it.

so bottom line is thing's like these are good in some senses, im not saying it;s entirely good but it's something hard working, honest families like mine need.

w/e im done /vent =/

There's a big difference between people who need it, and people who abuse it. You should get it, those who live in drug houses, deal drugs, taking drugs, living on welfare and food stamps and not doing anything to better their lives or finding a job, they don't deserve it.

There are many hard working people in the same circumstances as you and your mom. I'm glad that you spoke out.

Read the NYT article at the link I posted above. It's a short article and, after you've read it, you'll know more about the Bill than your roommate does.

i understand things are hard and i say this in the most sincere sense... i am not mocking your situation or making light of it in any way... but have you considered moving? some areas of the country are really expensive to live in.. and sometimes moving to a smaller town can actually make things better.. as things like housing are a lot cheaper.. like im pretty sure you could get by both working jobs in the area that i live in.... sometimes if things arent working.. drastic extreme change must occur to create change... dont wait for it to happen.. it wont.. you have to MAKE it happen... i am far from rich but make a pretty decent living... but ive been homeless.. no one came and fixed my problems.. good luck with your situation..

Most Americans would be required to have health insurance and face federal penalties if they do not buy it.
YOU CAN NOT FORCE THE AMERICAN PUBLIC TO BUY SOMETHING
this... is bullshit

i got it OC no worries bro i didn't take it in a bad way, this whole country's just f**ked up the ass recently (actually since the dawn of time) but yea we have tried moving. we lived in Charlotte for a year and we still own a house down there that we have tenant's living in paying the mortgage on it but it's in our name. but we gain nothing from it as of yet. now its just a house in our name getting paid for.

and yes i agree life is about making a change for yourself and working hard. it IS NOT gonna happen one day out the blue.

you guy's are some smart mo'fo's to be honest i can carry a proper debate but just choose not too. this thread has so many valid point's. they should let you guys run the country. (mind you im am not being sarcastic fyi)

This matter will be taken up with the supreme court, good thing Barry called them out and embarrassed them. We'll see how that works out for him.

We are already "forced" to buy car insurance. Same concept, right?
no not even similar... and i almost threw something through the TV when i first heard him draw that similarity...

AUTO INSURANCE...

a policy needed if you CHOOSE to operate a vehicle on a PUBLIC road with OTHER DRIVERS... something that is required because while operating your vehicle you COULD cause another person harm.. this is to protect them and make sure IF you injure them they are taken care of..

FORCED HEALTH INSURANCE...

the idea that by FORCING everyone to buy it, the item decreases in cost... me having or not having insurance does not impact others DIRECTLY... you know what.. if we FORCED everyone to buy GM made cars under the story of keeping americans working it WOULD work.. but would it be RIGHT... ALL that is happening here is the following.. the REAL problem of ridiculously high health CARE is being swept under the rug by FORCING health insurance..

PROBLEM: hospitals doctors etc.. charge TOO much for the average americans pay scale...

SOLUTION: lower the costs they charge

BAND AID: FORCE everyone to buy health insurance.. sure makes it a little cheaper.. but it is GROSSLY unconstitutional.... and it is only a temporary UNETHICAL solution to a FAR greater problem..

HE is systematically destroying america by manipulating our free market... people would not buy american cars.. so he meddles and finds a way to push them to... not everyone buying health insurance issue.. i got an idea we will just MAKE people buy it.. dood.. NOT a reasonable solution..

Not in New Hampshire you're not.

And the fact that I have to buy insurance for myself to cover me if I'm hit by an uninsured motorist chaps my ass too. I have to insure myself against the uninsured.

except I don't have to buy car insurance for every Tom, d**k, & Pedro that can't afford it. :oh:
Part of the cost of your car insurance includes covering the illegal uninsured driver, so you are indeed paying for Tom, d**k, and Pedro.

So you must have some car insurance that covers you if you get in an accident with an uninsured driver?

Or in your state, is having car insurance completely not mandatory? If so, are you fined if you get into an accident and don't have insurance? What percentage of NH drivers are uninsured?

But with a critical shortage of primary care providers, these newly insured patients may have nowhere to turn for medical care. Massachusetts, the only state that offers universal coverage, suffers from some of the worst primary care wait times in the country despite having the highest concentration of doctors nationwide.

completely different. I'm covering myself against the illegal or non-insured driver, I'm not paying his premiums.

Guess what's coming up next on the Agenda... Immigration Reform... woohoo

Millions of Americans who walk, ride a bike, take a train or public transit buy automobile insurance?

Apparently in Ron's world everyone is forced to buy automobile insurance even if they don't own an automobile. Makes his comparison seem even more idiotic doesn't it? ;)
