here we go.. lets not get into a bench race.. lets point the OP in the right direction...

OP: do what you need to do with your internals, find a kit that will get you to 350 safely and find a GOOD TUNER!

http://www.go-autoworks-store.com/ << they have great kits with excellent results on single slammers

one of our techs has a daily driven d series that makes 400+. people who say it cant be done obviously have no idea what they are talking about.
Pump gas? Sleeves? Bore? How many miles on that setup?
Fine, prove me wrong and build a 350whp d-series that will last you a year. Scratch that, even six months without major problems.

pump gas, stock sleeve, 75.5mm.

one that lasts six months? easy! mine. its 75mm, stock sleeves with GE block guard, on pump gas. i built the motor in 2007, i've driven it from sacramento to seattle and back atleast 3 times. i make more than 350 now, but back then it made 346whp

lol 350whp on a daily d-series? Get real man
Show me one person that has 350whp on a DAILY d-series, and I mean daily. Not a weekend show/track car. I'm not saying it's impossible to make 350whp, I'm saying it's just plain stupid to push it that high on a DD car.
350whp comes easier than you would think on a D series. Built block, stock head, decent turbo, great tune and 12-20psi would put one there easily and safely.

Just because it has that big peak # doesnt mean its rolling around at that power. You dont have to rev it out to 7500 every chance you get on the street.

just because you make 350 dosent mean you have to go wot everytime you drive. i dont rev past 4k driving my car on the street.
Agreed.
IMO, 350WHP in a Civic is a lot on the street, regardless of what motor is in it. That's more than enough power to merge into traffic easily.
I'd rebuild the D and turbo it before wasting money on a stock swap that isn't much more powerful than what you currently have.

thanx every1 for the feedbacks and opinions! imma just keep doing some more research on this rebuild and for sure i will keep u posted! i live in MN so theres plenty of expert tuners that might have experience this build before. but anyways 300-350whp doesnt have to be exactly 350whp but in the 300's ill be comfortable.

if you have a 350hp daily driver turbo D civic, then it's probably because you can't afford another car.

of course it's realistic and of course you can drive it daily but it would suck drivining it everyday! s**t, I thought my 186hp turbo D civic was shitty to use as a daily driver. Don't get me wrong, it was fun! It was just shity to use it for my daily driver.

:word:

i cant wait to make my DD, 350hp..

Holset HX35

if your gonna use the D16Y8 motor make sure to switch the oil pump out... the y8 oil pumps have bad oil flow....and are known to spin bearings.... get a D16Z6 pump....

Shim the oil pump on a y8 !! Visit turbod16.com. there are plenty of dd 350- whp sohc. A vitara piston, fj rods build is cheap and good for 400whp+. Its all in the tune, so no crome or free crap. Neptune or hondata is what i would use.
