I have a pretty serious problem going on with my cat.... I don't know if he's just absolutely 100% f**king retarded or something else is going on... But for the past 2 weeks or so, when he uses his litter box, he literally walks in his s**t. It gets stuck to his legs and it makes the apartment smell HORRIBLE. I clean his litter box after EVERY TIME he goes in, at least when I'm home. I have to clean him off EVERY DAY because he can't stop walking in his own s**t. He's either not burying it right after laying it or he's just retarded...I don't know. Either way, it's starting to REALLY piss me off because when I clean him, he cries and whines and hates me for it. But what the f**k else am I supposed to do? Let his s**t build up on his legs?

I called multiple vet places and (didn't talk to a vet directly) but a couple of them said the same thing: to clean his litter box as much as possible and make sure it's clean as much as possible. Um..I'm doing that. Now what? Do I have to teach him how to take a s**t? I've had him since February, he's about 10 months old, and this problem didn't start until randomly about 2 weeks ago when I saw s**t on his legs. I guess the last thing I can do is take him to the vet and see if something else is going on with him that's causing him to do something out of the ordinary.

if his s**t is so runny that its getting all over him there may be other issues.. like i am sure my cat steps in his s**t on occasion but its not all gross and runny so it never gets on him.. ?

Have you changed types of litter lately? He may not know where his s**t is if there's scented litters, but if not then that mother f**ker is ratarded.

Toilet trained cat FTW.

But I agree with oc_civic, my cat was always having the runs so it kept getting on him and drying up. Did you change food or routine lately?

He did have diarrhea a few weeks ago but that stopped.

For about 3-4 weeks, I fed him human food. Now, he's 10 months old, he's a kitten, I know this. I wasn't giving him human proportions. For the 2 out of the 5 weekdays a week I would work my landscaping job, I have to make sandwiches for work since I'm gone all day. I would feed him 1 or 2 tiny pieces of meat on those 2 days. And here and there I would break off a tiny piece of human food and give it to him as a treat. Then one day, he got diarrhea and I know it's because I gave him too much human food the previous day. So I said I'm done feeding him human food period. His dry food hasn't changed. It's been the same since I adopted him.

I know he doesn't have the runs. I clean his box after every time he uses it when I'm home. I check it to make sure it's not really soft / runny. It's solid and like it used to be before he had diarrhea.

if its solid i dont understand how its getting on him.. but with that said.. do NOT OVER FEED HIM HUMAN FOOD.. a TINY piece of meat or something here and there is probably ok.. but normal kitten food is what he should be getting.. second he is still pretty young and maybe just doesnt have the hang of the little box just yet..

x2.

Im with you on the human food, i used to do that, then he got fat. R.I.P. Frosty.(infected bladder, not weight problem) I didnt have him fixed because i think its inhumane. But, if you want to give him treats, do so when u get home or after doing something good, like not waking u up, and not with human food, theirs cat treats for a reason.

i actually think there is nothing wrong with giving the cat things that are proven to be ok for them.. SMALL piece of meat here and there.. stuff like that..

Take it to the vet dood.

I've never had that problem with any of the cats I've owned.

My cat had crystals and I almost lost him because it went undetected.

Yea, the dog would just eat the cat poop instead.

I think your cats just retarded. Comparing that cats are a very clean animal to begin with.. yours getting s**t on himself is abnormal. And when it comes to human food I never give my cat more than just a tiny piece of food. My cat loves the tuna.
