yep, this is the wrx i'm looking at getting. thanks for the compliments. it's got a few hail dings on the roof and the scoop is losing paint, but whatever. thanks for the thumbs ups everyone, i'm hoping i'm making a good decision here.

brian, it is currently untuned... good thing bugeyes can handle these mods without a tune... there's a local subaru guy that does opensource, though, so i'm gonna get him to clean up the map a bit. should cost me $100 or so i think. it's no dyno tune, but it'll really tidy up the powerband.... it should be stage 2ish i think, given the mods on the car. i'm still unsure if i'm gonna go with the exedy stg1 clutch or the south bend clutch dxd stg1... granted all clutches start as exedys, but i like how south bend clutch will match different materials for the disc and pressure plate depending on the application. plus they're local. lots to think about.
Opensource sounds good, for the price you can't beat it. Honestly those are all pretty good mods, sounds like he was getting ready to swap in a vf39 or something. Stage 2 will be awesome, you'll keep up with an STI for sure. How much is he asking?

I'm moving my stuff tomorrow to the new Apt and I'm picking up a Uhaul. Any one have any tips or experiences with Uhaul?

I keep hearing go an hour before but I'm picking up the truck at 7am which is opening & i refuse to be there waiting at 6:30 in anticipation for a "Line" -_____-"

judging from the mods, he either had larger snail or e85 in mind... or both.

Thanks for that explanation Anfrey, Tony always talked to me about stages like I had a clue what any of them meant ;)

Funny how only I've only heard it from Subie owners, must be an AWD thing I don't understand lol

my question is about the "stage" system is,

where's the spread sheet that lists and determines what stage the part is accepted in

for example if i had a stage 1 clutch on my, most likely wrx since we're on the topic, and everything else on the car is stage 2 , dose that not qualify the car as being stage 2?

and who's the "Stage master" that goes around and tests every part and rates it in stages?

It all comes down to horsepower, the wrx can make more power quite easily and the stages provide good power goals.

stage 1 clutch would be a good upgrade for any car but that wouldn't add to your hp, most people move stages as hp increases. stage 1 - new base map, evens out powerband, 180-190hp, stage 2 - 230-250 (full exhaust, up pipe, downpipe, you'll keep up with STIs, stage 3 - vf39/bigger snail, injectors, tmic or fmic, 250+hp

Those are approx power goals for each stage, looks similar to Anf's post lol. There is no official way to rate the stages, it has to do with power and the tune you have. Cobb Accessport comes with preloaded "stage" maps and is a popular upgrade for those wanting to change ecu maps on the fly
