I have been a lurker for a while, finally decided to register. I have been building this car with a friend or three in the process for the last 3 months or so. I bought the car with a B16 and a cheap setup, it worked decent but was dying for an upgrade.

Here's some of the first shots when I bought the car

The car was making 290whp on 12lbs on pump gas revving to about 10k. We could not figure out why we were losing power, my friend who helped me build the car and is tuning it thought it was high compression, I did not know, the guy I bought it from never mentioned it.

After a couple weeks of driving it around it was starting to smoke bad, it was the turbo going out...so we planned a build, went and bought lots of parts and on the day of driving the car to the shop to tear it down the trans decided to take a s**t, so at that point the whole motor was coming out.

days turned into weeks and we turned this:

beginning of fab and mockups

we got hung up for a little while because I decided to rip everything down because I did not fully trust the seller of what's inside so it was no question to pull the head if a headgasket is only a couple bucks... Low and behold the motor was what it said it was, a golden eagle sleeved B16, Eagle 1.8L stroker kit, 11.3:1 c/r etc...

then it came together and started looking like a race car

at this time I was daily driving this car and it was hell, so I had a bright idea to pull the turbo kit.

I am now waiting on a custom header and changing the throttle body. I also have a direct port kit that will be going on, with a 125 pill the car should be very competitive in the NSCRA 11.50 class . Maybe some future plans would be ITB's, when I can get a new TL lol

here's some from today

enjoy and let me know what ya think

It is an ongoing little project for brake ducts, but for now it covers the cutouts from the past IC setup

she's the last one, a late '95 EX, it's all original black interior with JDM console and GSR seats, which will soon be replaced by Recaros when I can do my halo bar and harnesses, I am also looking into doing the AIM digital dash

very clean civic man! both setups were nice but that second one was beastly. how big was the difference without the turbo? keep it up and cant wait for more.

The difference in N/A and turbo is night and day, but the car feels very good for what it's limited to right now, which is open throttle body and a stock header. There is also no timing at all in the tune for now, very conservative E85 dailyy driver tune. It will grab 4th gear like a raped ape at 10k though I will say that, even with a LS trans

The car was making around 300whp on 5lbs with E85, felt as fast and had a better powerband from 7-10k than the old pump gas setup on 12lbs

nice coupe man! if you had a smaller turbo, and a good tune it wouldnt be so bad for DD... BTW
where did you get E85 in FL?

thanks man... I thought about downgrading the turbo kit, but when I looked at it, there was no point in taking this kit off just for a smaller setup that will still be hard to daily drive at some point. I want to throw A/C back in it and just have a clean daily that gets down hard at the track on the weekend

Right now there are two places in my town (I should say I'm blessed) to get E85. In Port St. Lucie, there is a station on the turnpike, at Port St Lucie/Ft Pierce plaza #144 and #118 Gatlin Blvd off i95

the only place I've found E85 remotely close to you is Orlando/Lake Mary

there is also a station in Ocala that I know of that always has E98

Yes it's nice to have to spots on different sides of town for fuel, and they are pretty fair priced, on the turbpike it is $2.38 and Gatlin Sunoco is $2.49 and it tests pretty high, I was getting fuel that had about 92% ethanol content from the turnpike

the DR20's are going soon.. as soon as I take the dive on a set of M7's
