Hey guys,

So i successfully installed my front door speakers. Or so I thought. I was listening to them in the car and suddenly the audio went out. Everything else is working. The lights on the deck, etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

if its the stock h/u that can be the problem. I purchased my civic with one working speaker and that was blown. I installed some new speakers in the doors and added speakers to the rear shelf. All the speakers where firing except the passenger door. Aster awhile the drivers side door would cut in and out but the rears continued to work. I installed a new h/u and now all 4 speakers are working.

have you tried turning the volume up?

But really, you have a short in the system somewhere (wire touching frame is most probable). Search for it or get a multimeter and troubleshoot.

i changed my speakers in the rear deck and the tabs that connected to the speakers where toching the metal deck. check that, or a loose wire. and how did you hook up the radio. hard wired in, or factory harness wired to the radio harness.

speaker issues

ok well i guess this is in response to both 93 civic speed and to the original poster.
I found that with my civic when i upgraded all the speakers i had to rewire the whole dam thing for sound. Honda used the crappest and thinest wire they could use. This could also be your prob as long as its not a ground. I put in 12g. wire for all my speakers. it fixed the cutting out issues. Also if you don't ground your deck properly it can cause the same issues. I did a lot of custom install for my sound system so it was alot more work for me. But if its jjust a wire swap it should be very easy and only take 30 min for each side to be rewired. hope this helps

While you're rewiring, it would be a wise decision to put in a component amp if that's something you want
