Sonnen did not deserve to win. He has no heart. He is a poor sport and a cheater. This is two times he has tried to talk his way back into a fight after he has been subbed. I will always say champ fights should be unlimited rounds. Mma is not about decisions it about decisive victory.

This is a VERY good idea.

I dunno. I don't see how that was a tap. I mean, he only tapped on his leg once and that could have been an accident. The way they were moving it looked like Chael was either gonna start pounding his face in or slip out and the motion could have made him hit Silva's leg. Think the ref should have waited a second longer to see what would have happened.

Otherwise, he should have called it when Silva was getting his face beat in. I see both sides of it though. And that unlimited round this is just stupid. Atleast my other fighters won.

I can tell you from experience there are no accidental tap. Everyone that has trained knows when their arm is in danger of break and that is when they tap. You don't get close to tapping unless it is time to tap. check out Sonnen vs Filho 1 in the Wec for more info. Sonnen is uber competitive and after Anderson let him out of the sub he wanted to continue. This crap has happened in MMa since the beginning (Royce vs Shamrock). I just hate to see it happen.

Don't be fooled by chael he did not escape. He was let out of the sub. His leverage was no where right to slip out of the submission and his arm was done.

As for Anderson getting his face beat in. Who bleed? It wasn't Anderson. o jiujitsu é o melhor

I was so disappointed with the Sonnen fight. I was really rooting for him. Sure he talked s**t. But he backed it up and whooped silvas ass for 4 and a half rounds until he got caught in a submission. who cares if he talks s**t anyways? its part of the sport. Every fighter does it before a fight.

I just dont like silva because of his arrogance and the way he carrys himself. Ive never been a fan of anybody thats so cocky.

Did you see the way he acted at the weigh in? THAT is poor sportsmanship imo.

Im also not a fan of people who cant even speak english in America. How bout you learn to speak english if your gonna come be a competetor in America.

Im ready to see him lose. By either knockout or submission.

His arm?? That was a triangle choke.

Whoever thinks there should be unlimited rds, that's just dumb. It's a sport, not a street fight. It needs rules and limits.

Sonnen is a real guy. He doesn't hide things, he puts it out there. I like him, but he def tapped. He had no chance of getting out of that. Anyone who thinks he doesn't deserve an immediate rematch is also brain dead. He completely and totally dominated Silva for 22 1/2 minutes and got caught. Those of us who follow the sport, not just UFC, know that he has an excellent ground game. Did you see how fast he threw that triangle?? That was crazy! I fully believe that deserves a rematch for 2 reasons.

1) That was an awesome fight in every aspect of the game.
2) They gave Shogun an immediate rematch. Granted he should have won the 1st fight, but until Chael got caught, he was much more dominant than Shogun was.

I can't wait to see them again.

that's s**t's over.. you guys are dumb!

all I know is that I don't want to see the Toney vs Couture fight! The natural is going to f**king WRECK James Toney but Toney is too punch drunk to even know what he's getting himself into... I guess he needs money that bad!

Are you seriously going to question a guy that has jiujitsu as his username and has since the early 2000's? Okay, you know what really sucks about MMA being so big is that people that have never been on a mat or in a fight are experts. They think since they have watched 20 ufcs that they are experts. Please review this material as Sonnen obviously tapped to the arm being extended as he had already defended the triangle attempt by Anderson Silva.

So in review you should now know that you don't extend to finish a triangle you extend to finish an arm. Sonnen tapped to the arm.

let me explain.. when someone is on top of you for 20+ minutes punching you in the face.. most would consider that getting your face beat in.. the fact that he didn't bleed LIKELY points to the fact that he has not been in the position forever and likely doesnt have a bunch of scare tissue built up.. these guys who have been fighting for years build up all the scar tissue and about all it takes is a glancing blow to open it up like a faucet.... look ill give credit where its due.. Anderson is an amazing fighter.. but irregardless of ANYTHING else.. he got man handled for 20+ minutes and got incredibly lucky, because he was without question LOOSING that fight..

If a bicycle runs into my car five hundred times I would say that it got bumped a lot. I would say that it was scratched up. Now if It got hit by a ford f250 and my wheel s flew off and landed a block away then my car is damaged. This same thought process is in my head as far as fighting goes. You can hit someone hundreds of times and not damage them. most of the strikes that sonnen landed was busy work. He landed some good shots but most was just busy work to not get stood up. Anderson on the other hand looked to damage Sonnen and did so with very few strikes. Anderson did not lose 20 + minutes of the fight. He lost the first four rounds for sure though.

i have to agree with greg on this one. he got hit alot, but they werent bombs that were hitting him, he did get hit with a few good shots but ALOT of sonnens hard punches either missed completely or didnt land solid. he "touched" silva alot but they were by no means hard punches. silva threw some nice elbows from the bottom which is why sonnens face was all bruised and swelled and why he got cut. fight was good regardless. all of the fights were pretty damn good IMO. roy nelson has one hell of a chin i will say that for him. but dos santos completely dominated him. i was very pleased with the whole card. too bad they arent all that good

I agree with greg, it was an armbar that got him. I'm no expert but I believe you pull the opponents head down to finish a traingle choke. Either way, Sonnen shouldnt have let Silva control his wrist for so long in the moments prior to submission. I'd like to see a rematch with more standup. All in all it was a pretty good event. I liked seeing Hughes throw down with some traditional wrestling and skyscraper making a comeback.

you of all people should know that fights are not won by sheer power of attack.. they are won by domination Anderson was dominated the entire first 4 rounds.. and what you say later I totally agree with..
I am actually old school in my thought process. I was talking to Roli Delgado about this same thing about a month again. He said the most important thing in fighting is getting the W no matter what. I disagree the most important thing to me is that you get the finish. I believe in the finish.
