i say getting a good fan would also help aid in cooling. make sure its moving the correct direction, and a shroud could help too.
not sure if you have a name brand radiator or not, but a cheap one could have an internal leak thats causing the problems.
No need to re-torque the bolts, I got ARP studs.. had it together took it back apart and then re-torqued them back down... no head lift can be seem, no leaks anywhere of any kind and my reservoir bottle does not fill up... so I don't believe head lift is occurring.

I do have an aftermarket thick ass radiator.. can't remember the brand as I bought it years ago... I just know that the fan it came with was basically just a cheapy that came with the rad... I'm hoping an upgrade will do the trick.. but with this car, everything is hot ass balls under the hood... I'm about ready to take a dremel and drill enormous holes in the hood for ventilation purposes... Super ghetto extreme FTW!?

why'd u go with a 13 inch slim fan instead of the 14 inch one? would a 14 inch slim fan not work on a half radiator?

I did a bunch of research recently and just about all the guys run the 13" fan... I think the 14" will be way too tight of a fit, especially for my current set up. Hoping to order one today and pay out the ass for fast shipping, I NEED this done by thursday night. Fingers crossed fellas!

I'll keep the updates coming...

i might wanna reconsider a 14 inch slim fan then, i was gonna make it a pusher to try and clean up my bay a little, thanks civhatch92

Thank you sir... so do I... so do I.

UPDATE:
Got next day air shipping. s**t better be here tomorrow damnit! Also mocked up a shroud out of poste-rboard just to check for size/fitment and what not. Trying to mount the fan as far back from the radiator as possible so it gets more surface area sucking through the radiator, thus being more efficient. Waiting for the fan, then hopefully starting to throw something together.

Also need to put in a 30amp relay and use 10 gauge wiring because otherwise the fuse is going to blow or my wires will fry! So much to do, absolutely no time!

Best of luck to you, I'm not a fan of the pusher fans... because I don't think I could squeeze one in front of my radiator. Or perhaps I just don't have the time to try that route and have it fail. I'm trying the route I feel most confident will have the best results.

UPDATE August 11:

Stuck at work still wishing I was at home in the garage. Called home; my fan came this morning and my dad is working on bending the metal similar to the poster-board mock-up we made last night. Can't wait to get home and see the progress! I've been meaning to get pictures, but after staying in the garage till 9:30pm every night I just don't feel like taking any pics. I'll see what I can do before I go away friday for vacation.

UPDATE - ROUND TWO:

That's right, second update for today... got to satisfy my fans with some pictures as promised:

Here's a shot with the radiator out so you can see the sick wrap job my father helped me with!

As you can see, the shroud is coming together pretty good actually. It's approximately 1 1/4" deep-wise so the fan will sit back a bit from the radiator.
For anyone that's wondering... the shroud is angled because my downpipe comes out the passenger side, this way it will offset the shroud enough to clear the downpipe. Just used as simple 45 degree angle for the offset and it looks near perfect.

Tomorrow my dad's going to try and work on getting it all mounted up. Still need to run the wiring and throw in a relay. Crunch time people!

I got too lazy, snad blasted it.. hit it with the grinder and threw some clear coat on it, just so I can drive it this weekend and see how it works out. I can just teat it back out and paint it later.. main thing is to function over form right now!

Thanks a lot man, me too... we'll find out soon.

UPDATE:

Came home to my dad busting his balls working on this in the garage while it was pouring outside. Hopped right in with him and we beat it all out eventually. Just got out of the garage at 10pm finally. Took it for a quick ride just to make sure the fan runs... it does, and it sounds loud as s**t (good loud!)... hopefully a good sign of how strong it is! Tomorrow is the big test; I'm heading off to Jersey and I'll be back in a week to let you know how it works out.. stay tuned!

picsssssss:

Made a custom/relocated coolant overflow mount cause the stock position was in the way. Used some weather stripping to create a nice seal between the fan and shroud, I think it looks pretty sick actually. Eventually we plan to drill some holes down the back slanted part of the shroud to let excess air escape.. because if it builds up too much it could actually hurt more than help by slowing the fan down while cruising fast.

Pretty tight fight, but it's in there and looks pretty damn good for less than a weeks worth of work! Off to Jersey for a week of vacation tomorrow.. if the car makes that trip fine I'm heading to Honda Day on Sunday August 15 at Englishtown with it... look for me if you're there!!!
