Just had some Southern Tier IPA....so delicious. Probably one of the better east coast IPA's, not the best but definitely one of the better ones.

Drinking a Raspberry Lambic. Can't recall the brand.. Not Lindemann's this time though. It's good, not quite as sweet, but still very good. It's my reward for working / moving into my new apartment from wake up til now.

Bought a bottle of this tonight... $9 friggin bucks. It's aged with oak chips (kind of like whiskey.) and has over 16% abv (accomplished by the addition of turbinado [unrefined] sugar.)

The alcohol taste is sickeningly strong.. 16% is very very high for a beer. I could taste a hint of cherries.. as the blend is partially Kriek Lambic... could also taste a hint of the oak flavoring.

Personally, I couldn't drink it. I forced myself to drink about a third of it...then I had to dump the rest down the sink. The alcohol flavor was too strong for me.. and it just tasted horrible. It was making me feel sick. Simply not palatable for me.

This thread died off in April. I have to resurrect it.

Enjoying a Sam Adams Summer Ale

I go back and forth with Sam Adams. There's something very good about their beers... but there's also something that I dislike about them all. So I can never completely decide if I like Sam Adams in general. Regardless, the beer was free and it is now going in belly.

Will most likely be enjoying a Pilsner Urquell tonight as I watch Destination Truth and Beast Legends.

I don't think I've ever had a Pilsner Urquell.. To be honest, I haven't had too many REAL pilsners in my life. I need to though. I'm just so scarred from our American crap beer... that I worry that "real pilsners" will be just as flavorless....

After having a real Pilsner, I never wanted to put another American styled beer near my lips.

Since when did this thread get here? lol I'm behind!

I like mostly middle weight lagers, like Harp and some of the Sam Adams stuff. The real treasures are the smaller breweries around here, the Sweetwater breweryin Georgia, Flying Pig, and Olde Town brewery. Last year we got the 'Gourmet Beer Act' passed and can now get higher gravity beers; I'm still developing tastes for different beers.

So true!!

I love Pilsner Urquel many peeps (non beer lovers) hate it and that's fine by me lol

Went to Spokane in July we had to go to a German Deli to find it, they don't sell it anywhere!!

Really? They sell it at most major super markets in my area, in 4-pack cans upto 12-pack glass cases.
