It's been a while since my last update on this site so I figured I'd just copy/paste this from another forum I'm on and show you guys what I've been up to...
I just want to start this off by commending those that have done full engine bay tucks... MUCHO kudos to you. Second, those of you thinking about starting a bay tuck, think long and hard about it and follow this to see if it's something you really want to do lol
Anyways, I finally started what I've been wanting to do for quite sometime this weekend
MY BAY TUCK!!! Keep in mind it is FAR from complete and this is going to be a very time consuming procedure. Everything will be done right the first time even if it takes me 6 months to complete.
First, before you get started with something of this magnitude it is critical to have 3 things...
Here we go...
Pile O' shtuff
Now you see it...
Now you don't...
LOTS of emissions crap gone...
Battery & fuse box gone...
Pile of fun...
No mo' airbags...
Here's where it gets fun...
Then BAM!!!
Passenger side harnesses getting ready to exit the bay...
See ya bye...
Plugged up...
Pulled the harness inside and started the separating...
Driver's side...
Don't be jealous...
I've decided to keep power steering for the time being until I get a manual steering rack so I figured I'd clean up the brackets that hold it on...
Got the engine harness out...
I decided that since I had all this free space in the bay I'd FINALLY swap out the rear motor mount...
Today was a good day...
Plugged some more holes.......badump bump
Started putting the p/s back together...
No one will probably ever notice these (alternator brackets) but I do, so I decided to clean them up...
Media blasted...
Then I sprayed 'em down...
Starting to get there...
I'm not even close to being finished with it so please keep that in mind haha.
I'll make sure to try and keep this forum updated as often as possible with this project.
