What a mini swap is, please? I would really appreciate it. (New to engine world) lol
Oh ok... lol, I think all I need to do it rebuild my engine.Search the forums, there is a ton of information on it.
/cliff notes, its the SOHC version of a LSVTEC. basically you take the head from a D16Y8 VTEC motor and install it onto a nonVTEC block (ex: D16Y7).
Its exactly that straight forward though, there are a few things you have to do to get everything installed properly. But its still fairly easy for the experienced technician.
Pretty much.so would a D16Y7 Block with a D16Y8 Head and ECU be considered a Mini-Me?
yes. it's exactly what i did w/ mine.so would a D16Y7 Block with a D16Y8 Head and ECU be considered a Mini-Me?
So no need for one then?the original kind of mini me swaps would be putting a VTEC head, z6, y8 or zc, (z6 or zc in the early 90s) on a d15 block but the term has grown to any vtec conversion on a d series.
Yeah... kinda figured after a while.if you have a y8 motor already do not worry about this. it would be completely pointless
Appreciate it alli was just giving a history lesson. i love history and i love hondas so i combine the two and know a ton about honda history and am learning new stuff every day
