Immmmma fan of JL Audo myself. 12" w3.. great. My buddy has a 10" W7, and it's one of the clearest sub's I've heard. Mids and Low's hit hard, and the high's are even pretty damn clear.

What are you talking about? the mb quart dsc amps(now discontiuned) were some of the best bang for buck amps on the market.

mb quart was good, for subs i would go with an alpine type r, or a rockford p3 i had an alpine in my civic and loved it, nice deep bass when i wanted to blast it and nice tight sound, you can pick em up for a couple hundred, it is important to match your amp well with your sub, if your sub is 600w try to stay around that area with true power on the amp, too little power its gunna sound like s**t, too much power same thing. in my experience from installing and owning, some of the better names for good true power is alpine and rockford for amps, just like anything you get what you pay for

i went to a local audio shop today and they said everything would be 650 which includes all the speakers and 2 10in subs. if i wasnt afraid of messing it up myself it would be cheaper.

kenwood speakers ?? sounds like your getting ripped if possible get a detailed list of everything. i would really reconsider doing it yourself its really not as difficult as it seems and there are DIYs ,on how to do everything some with pics.

definately sounds like they are ripping you off, and doing this stuff is easier than you think. i did it on my own before i knew anything about cars. its really just common sense. hell changing a spark plug is probably harder lol you got to gap that lol plus that shop is charging in the area of 65 a hour probably.

i ran a 1000 watts RMS amp to a 200 watt PEAK sub for 3 months? explain that. oh and it the sub is still working. its all in how the amp is tuned. you can match it perfect or under power the speaker and still blow it

what kind of amp, and if it is true 1000 watt that amp has the capability of launching that sub into orbit if its a 200 watt max sub, either you dont beat the s**t out of it like most people abuse a sub or your just f**king lucky, theres my explination...... correct it is how the amp is tuned in which 90% of people dont know how to properly tune it but if you have a sub that demands 800 watts from an amp that can only do 300 your gunna over drive the amp or starve the sub.... why is it on this site you try to offer info and someone else has to try to have the bigger stick?

U can install 300 watts sub with a 1200 watt amp with no problem, make sure the gain on d amp its down
Most people turn d gain up so they can get more bass but that gain is 4 matching the output coming from d radio's rca's not to get louder.
If u buy a 1200/1000 Watt amp thats not what the amp its going to put out, first u need 14.5 volts at the amp (NOT going to happen) u might get 11/12.1/2 volts at d amp so now u drop the power of d amp from 1200 to maybe 500 and if u really measure d power on that amp it would b more like 200/300watts rms, so dont b scare to install a 1200 watt on a 200/300 watt sub
What really kills d sub its going to b distortion not the power of the amp.
Most low budget amps d power rating is peak power not rms
