YAAAHHHNnNnnnn... I can read. I know what he said. I do not need you to point that out.... LOL is what the shop that is doing the work is doing... LoL for the shop that put your Yonaka CATBACK exhaust on.. you probably got more rice then the china house buffet on that car..

sorry to hear about your motor issues man, Really wish you had some buddies that worked on motors to help you out because that's a lot of dough to drop on that motor. if you don't work why do you need your car running so quickly? (just asking)

Stop acting all high and mighty and you might actually get along with people. He has a plan, he has his priorities. If he wants to have someone build his engine for the peace of mind and warranty, who are you to say what's a bad idea and what's not?

Well I need the car running because I do make money repairing computers, I usually pick them up, repair them at my place, then return them, I have 4 customers in waiting to get repaired but some of them understood my situation & brought the pc's to me & will be picking them back up, I also run a stay at home dad group so I go to every meet up I can to meet new members because to group seems to be growing all the time, about 60 or so members now, I also take my son to see his grandma once a week, this is a must since she will be helping with the cost of my repair work on the Civic.

Now update.

Here are some pics from the shop of the head

That head looks nice & clean now, wish I had before pics but these make it look good. :D

First off only reason I added to the idea of going another route with motor because he had yet to say for sure what he was doing... No hate for someone trying to get there car back on the road, been there. Second I would have extended the hand of help and tools to get it done in a weekend if he went another route. Im not someone a couple hundred or thousand miles away wishing him help.

I understood where you were coming from Stephen & thanks for wanting to help, if I need something I'll give you a buzz if I need something in the future, I'm not one to ask for handouts from people so I would have never thought to ask you for help.

UPDATE!
I have the car back & it runs better than when I bought it, so here is the list of services I got for $1196.

All heater hoses
Head gasket set
Head machined & valves cleaned & adjusted (rebuilt)
Thermostat & O-ring
New spark plugs (one was ruined with the misfiring)
Complete coolant flush
Complete flush of oil & oil change
Set the ignition timing

And this all is under warranty so that's piece of mind & these guys were very nice & took pics for me when I couldn't be there to do so, also gave me a 10% discount on the labor, I will go back to them in the future when I need something major again plus I will be trading services with them, they have 6 pc's on site for me to do maintenece work on every 6 months so I may get some upgrades in the future labor free, obviously parts will cost me but they will put on parts I bring in.

Well got it checked, code was p1336, CKP Sensor Intermittent Interruption, so I took it to the mechanic that did my head work & he said it was the CEL was because of the belts not having enough tension & I also have a bad bearing on my AC clutch which he will replace for $35 with no charge for labor since he just had my motor apart & didn't see this issue. I can hear that bearing when I rev the engine past 2500 RPM's when the car it warmed up. Taking it back friday morning to get it done & all should be quiet, engine still running great (knock on wood) even with the CEL on but now it's off so I'm happy about that.
