When my car is warm, it revs between 1000 and 1500 when i drive it, it wants to keep accelerating slowly till it gets to about 30mph and when im under 30 or 25mph it decelerates fast almost like im pressing on the brakes. when i come to a stop and dont have the brake pushed all the way in, it'll jerk forward a little by little cause the rev going between 1000 and 1500. help?

Do you want to share information about the car you drive?

Any CEL codes?

If not, start by cleaning/adjusting the FITV, cleaning the throttle body, and making sure the throttle cable is not too tight (should have 1/2" of slack).

No. cel light is on but thats only cause i have to put a new wire on my vtec. this problem has nothing to do with it since the car has ran like this ever since i got it and i adjusted the vtec wire myself since someone put a audio wire on it that was barely holding on.

That's the problem with having a CEL that's always on -- you don't know if a new code has popped up. It would be wise to pull the codes now to check for this.

Thank you sir. There's definitely a lot of goodies in my signature that go unnoticed by many members.

Everyone on there says do the IACV first...? and im guessing the throttle body doesnt need to be taken off since it doesnt say it does and neither do you? Just curious though, why the FITV first?

You want to clean and adjust the FITV first because your idle problem happens only after the engine is warm. As the FITV should only bypass air from the throttle body to the intake manifold when the engine is cold, your symptoms fit with a dirty/misadjusted FITV that is unable to completely stop bypassing air after the engine is hot. It's an extremely common problem. That's why the FITV was eliminated from later Civic models.
