:shock:hey peeps! im sure you have seen this car before and i am back! My computer crashed but its all good now so i am restarting. I was going to sell this car and tried but didnt get offered near what i wanted so i decided to keep it and swap the motor. I plan on swapping my old d15b7 that has close it 180XXX on her for a new rebuilt d16z6 BUT i am looking for some ideas on what i should put in for internals. I do not plan on turboing since it is a dd but i do want some power but also good mpgs. If you could just give me some ideas on what parts n how much. I have some new pics of her but she looks the same. thanks! :word:

you asked what you could do to get more power.. try a 2.5" or 3" exhaust, a SRI or CAI or PowerChamber, some brand of 4-2-1 header, fjdistributors bottom end kit, new camshaft and that should do it.

lmfao yea i have a full exhaust 2.5 in with a 4in muffler but idk what brand the headers are but there 421 its loud but nice n deep sounding. i was thinking like camming the motor like stage 1 maybe but idk depends if i gotta replace the retainers n springs.

with stage one you might be able to get away with stock retainers and springs. i'd suggest stage 2 or 3 cam and bottom end work, maybe a port and polish of the intake manifold, bigger throttle body as well.

yea i the throttle body i have for it the mass airflow hookup is broke so i just decided to get a new one or get one from a junkyard. what kind of pistons n rods should i put in? i mean im willing to put like up to a grand into the motor but not much over that because i need to save some for college...

college is a killer. trying to find cash when you're there is tough. anyway, you could put in vitera pistions, and eagle i or h beams. or order a fjdistributors bottom end kit, its about 500. could get a skunk2 throttle body

You want more power but for the busck spent you should go low psi boost! Just my opinoin. Peice together a turbo kit, ebay turbo or saab/volvo turbo, do some maintance to the engine, good tune and chipped ecu, and you should be good.

yea but doesnt that involve a semi built motor to hold up to that? i just dont want it to break down on me because i use everyday and its my ride everywhere...lol low boost doesnt sound like a bad idea just means more work n rigging up to do...idk though

low boost levels could get you a bit of power on the stock engine components. but only low levels, like <10psi.

piecing together a turbo kit can be challenging as i'm finding out (i'm making my own kit). there is a ton of stuff you need. injectors, resistor box, intercooler, turbo, wastegate, blow off valve, fuel pump, boost controller, gauges, gauge pod, a/f sensor, tuning software, chipped ecu, etc. under a grand maybe, but only maybe. homemadeturbo.com i've heard is a good place to start.

so i can do 10psi or lower on stock internals? people always tell me it wont last at all and that you have problems with the motor running...idk id have to research a bit on it. but i mean for a grand for a turbo setup wouldnt be bad.

i'm hoping that my turbo setup will be under a grand too. so far i'm at 360.. so i'm doubting i'll be able to. all depends where you get your stuff. i'm pretty sure that less then ten psi would be ok. hopefully someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

UPDATE: So this weekend i decided i needed to get going on my build and started tearing my z6 block apart and clean it up a bit. As of right now its a bare, clean block. I plan on starting to build in a couple weeks or so. Comments welcome! Oh yea hers a pic of some real honda power lmao you can almost do anything with a civic...

Plus when i got this car the trunk did have any board in it to hold up stuff on it so basically my sub n amp was sitting right on top of my spare n s**t. So me n my buddy decided to make one are own and put it in. I like it cuz its clean n nice looking cept for the dirty carpet(sorry) lol but here is some pics of my trunk.

Not bad. Car looks nice and the new engine looks to be coming along nicely. If your thinking of running b oost and the engines already out you might as well order some arp head/rod studs, get your pistons shot peened and do some other preventative measures just to be on the safe side. I don't know exactly how much boost a d block will take though. Can't wait to see updates!

yea in a couple weeks i will be ordering hi compression bottom end rebuild kit from fjdistributors.com Plus i think i have my motor build all planned out. im going to get stage 1 crowler cams, skunk2 pro series intake mani, about a 68mm throttle body. so far thats what i have in mind but not fully comitted to it. still looking for ideas. trying to build to beat my buddies b18a1 thats pretty much stock lol

yea i dont think il be pushing even close to that but just enough to keep up with a couple of my buddes b series cars n a gsr thats stock. i dont really have an estimate on how much hp il be putting out...have any idea with that stuff above? ^^^^
