i have a p28 in my delsol and i need to chip it before i run boost.. i googled it once and browsed for a few minutes before having to go to work, but how hard is it to chip your own ecu? i'd be nervous about destroying it.

If you know alot about electronics n computers you should be fine but if you dont then i wouldnt. In my opinion i would just take it somewhere and have it done so you dont screw yourself out of it. But i do have some good news i LOWERED my car hahaha 2 inches with new stock struts. il get pics tonight or tomarrow up

you bought lowering springs and new stock struts? no offense why wouldn't you go aftermarket struts? stock ones will blow with lowering springs (it'll take a while but they'll still blow). still tho, pics or it didn't happen! lol

ya thats what i figured. i'll get a shop to do it.

oh ok. gotcha. wasn't trying to be rude or bash or anything. just knowledge i've learned from various forums. new stock ones will still last longer then original stock ones. lol.

yea in a couple weeks i will be ordering hi compression bottom end rebuild kit from fjdistributors.com Plus i think i have my motor build all planned out. im going to get stage 1 crowler cams, skunk2 pro series intake mani, about a 68mm throttle body. so far thats what i have in mind but not fully comitted to it. still looking for ideas. trying to build to beat my buddies b18a1 thats pretty much stock lol

Why would you order a high compression bottem end rebuild kit when your thinking on boost? unless your just throwing the idea around currently. If your going to run 10lbs of boost and your engine is already apart, go ahead and get low compression setup so you can run a proper turbo setup!

i agree with doubletap. didn't think about that before. n/a => high comp, boost => low comp

the butt of the car sits up higher so it looks like the back of the car got a lift kit n the front sits like 3 inches off the ground with the lip. But i went out this morning itching to drive it n it had a flat tire...grrreeaaaatttt! fml

No suspension is not clutch rofl! Nor is the clutch he's referring to to game wining kill in cod..sounds like you need to do more research..

you may have. dunno. sorry. a stock clutch would be good enuf you aren't planning on running crazy boost just mild NA thrills.

as for suspension. if they ride nice and give you that nice drop then who really cares what name brand or not they are? good pick up! (for example, i got buddy club n+ for my 8th gen and it made the car ride so bad i had to go back to stock. i hate seeing how high it is)

i have 2 buddies that have the same motor (d16z6) but one has a stage 1 clutch n the other stock n the one with the stage wins n when i drive a stock clutch it sounds n feels like it slips alot. lol i guess my point is i dont want slippage if possible.
